OSR3 Mounting Solution

I've been doing a lot of work on the OSR2, getting it ready for release, but in the meantime I thought you might appreciate this.

This is a mount for the OSR3 in its current form that will attach it to an IKEA Poäng chair, or similar. I have included a plywood cutting plan (6mm) and also STLs for a 3D printed version. It uses the same M6 bolts as are used on the OSR3 design, with some wing nuts.

I recognise that one of the weaknesses in the current OSR3 design is in ways to mount it. I am addressing this in the OSR2 by adopting a VESA 100mm mount, and I intend to re-visit the OSR3 and re-engineer it for a similar mount.

In the meantime I hope that this is useful, and/or provides inspiration.

It's an older model but basically one of these: https://www.amazon.com/Upgrade-3018-Engraver-Controller-Extension/dp/B07DXMFY38 It's not quite as versatile or user friendly as a 3D printer but it's bloody brilliant for what it does.

I would love to get a CNC router. I have seen some that are quite reasonably priced. Can you tell us which one you have Tempest?

Yep VESA is a brilliant idea. I wish it was mine :p

Interesting..... nice job! Had a gotten this before building a crude mount I'd have totally printed it. IMHO a mount needs to be tilt-able and have adjustable height as one's dick isn't always perfectly vertical you might be lying down or leaning back, say. I think the VESA idea is brilliant!

Never thought about chair. I made a janky 3d printed desk mount. Going to adapt this . Thanks

Correct 😉

Nice mount. You must have a CNC router, there aren't any burn marks on those wood pieces.
