On AI: Absolutely correct, both on the problems with how 'AI' is integrated on devices and bots running bots watching bots play videos of bots. It's not just obnoxious and in your face, but I'm very much in the camp of considering the increased integration and data mining security hazards. Case in point, 4 years ago, work reported a bug in Chrome on Android where Text Prediction was on for some password fields. This is bad, as text prediction saves to the dictionary and depending on your keyboard may upload data for analysis. (if anyone is curious, google Issue Tracker case 40785696 ) Reported it on august 18 general response was basically 'huh.. peculiar' Sept. 13 : 'hey, last guy who worked on this, any ideas?' Sept. 21: 'oh, uh, nope, wasn't me' Sept. 29 we reported that it was fixed in the new version of Chrome, case is still listed 'Verified', not even closed. No idea how or why. And that bug tracker is absolutely *filled* with issues like that. If you're thinking Google is giving you the cold shoulder because you're 2 people in a shed making videos of guns... Nope... Millions of people can be affected and they just don't care at all unless it bites them in the ass financially. I do also actually still love technology - but this? Not this.. :\ I'm seeing more and more people disgruntled with 'social' media, AI and politics ruining online experiences, wanting to retreat to little corners of specific interest of their own, similar to the forums of old.. I don't think we're all done yet, but it will need some rebuilding. Keep up the good work - still love what you're doing. :)

Public AI has the cognitive ability of a 6 year old. It can only count to 89 and has a 6 second short term memory. This is to keep AI from being dangerous. Government AI is more like a 17 year old. Some what useful, but still controllable so long as you don't expose it to certain information. The kind of AI you want would be too powerful to be allowed in public hands.

Yeah, if someone has done their homework to feed their Lee Navy, that's a HUGE load off of your shoulders! Step 1: find a mold to make .236 caliber bobos[1], since the "6mm Lee Navy" isn't a real 6mm.. Step 2: Find some 22-250 brass you can chuck in the lathe, cut off the rim and cut an extractor groove into. Better hope it has an extra thick cartridge base! Step 3: Find a 50 year old load book that still has a listing for the Lee Navy, and then find a modern powder that approximates the old discontinued powder the listing references. 😉 [1] Y'all better start using the technical jargon in class if you want the students to take you seriously! 😄
