As a Japanese collector - Great video! So I watched on the tube YouTube first, did you get feedback on the two handed training off the early access Patreon video? Was surprised by a correction already. Honestly two handed doesn’t really make safety operation easy, I pulled some of mine to check. I get what you’re saying there’s a certain quality of the nambu that makes you want to root for it… the Japanese equivalent of je ne sais quoi Re extra credit: I think they met their design goals, but they should have set loftier goals, the bar to clear the t26 is pretty low. The other trials gun you alluded to with the double stack mag sounds like it could have had a lot of promise to be a top tier pistol of the era, or I suppose it could have been a hot mess. I remember seeing Ian’s video on it a way back but don’t know anything more about it but I think the manual safety was better… The politics going on in pretty much all facets of Japanese society of the era are fascinating and it would be unfortunate if a lesser design moved forward because of it. Watched this while reloading some 8mm Nambu. Cheers!

I know the modern gun with a trapezoidal sight set up! I also know who designed it ;). I’m not done either. https://ppubs.uspto.gov/api/pdf/downloadPdf/20250334360?requestToken=eyJzdWIiOiIwMDI4MTIwNC05MjUyLTRiNDMtYmNhMS05YjJjOThlYTc5ZTAiLCJ2ZXIiOiJkNjUxMzVlOS0zM2M5LTQyODgtODE2Ny1iNWE5ZDk5ZjViNGEiLCJleHAiOjB9
