I could be wrong, but I always thought "Nauvoo" was pronounced "Now-voo" not "Nouveau" w/ the world's worst attempt at French... π

This was great--I'm looking forward to the second part.
I hope you get a crazy bug to do one on Sam Colt at some point. That would be a ride!

The concept was indeed overdue, and the content was excellent; great work, overall.
However, there was a 2 lb hunk of clickbait sitting on the table, and I honestly wouldn't have noticed if you'd had a bugger descend from you nose after the beginning and slide down to your stomach by the end.
So maybe check for that before releasing,..and for God's sake, at least touch the 1911 sometime within Episode 2!

This is awesome, looking forward to part two!
It would be helpful, especially for the little rewinds, to have a timeline showing when events are occurring along the bottom of the screen. The cards for each firearm look good, but don't give any relation to contemporary designs. If the card image did a flow/zoom into the timeline to show where it fits that would be cool, but just having the timeline would be much clearer.
I appreciate this might not be a quick thing to add, but I do think it would be worth including, or if not in this video as part of a wrap-up in part two.
Sidenote, if I can get some more details on the patent (mainly the drawings) for the magazine-in-lever design at ~22:00 I'd love to try modelling that up - that sits in my favourite category of 'what were they on' design. I'm going to have a go with the still, but there's a lot that's unclear.

I would second that. Not quite as sexy as a Bruno animation, but would allow a better chance of comprehension in the time allotted. Otherwise: CHECK OUT THE BIG BRAIN ON BROWNING! XD

I agree with Mac Johnson about highlighting some of the parts that Othais is mentioning when the schematics are shown. An incredible in-depth episode!! As a βpurist,β I like Othais with his hat but this criticism is meaningless because the content of this Primer Episode is superb.

Very well done! Only suggestion: when Othais refers to a schematic, it is not always easy to identify the part he is talking about before the schematic disappears. It might be good to point out with a cursor or color when referring to some aspect of a design.
