Great to hear that. I was thinking of you all. Stay safe, we love you too much to lose you

Douglas Killock

Good catch, thank you!

C&Rsenal

Luckily we avoided the worst of it.

Sharp eyes. Well spotted!

Jon Rolfson

Fascinating look at a rifle that I had never heard of before. Kudos on your insghtful explanation, carefully caveated, of your analysis of the unusual bits of the action, specifically the multi-purpose dust cover. Particularly enjoyed your linguistic side trip which explained the Japanese sponsorship of the name ‘Manchukuo’ (Pu Yi’s pendent statelet). Ran into the element –‘kuo’ quite by accident, thirty odd years ago, while visiting friends in Hong Kong. My then Thai girlfriend (now wife) was, mostly using ad hoc sign-language, energetically dickering over the price of some already very inexpensive sweaters. The obviously exasperated seller, apparently familiar with the bargaining prowess of tight-fisted Thai women, rolled her eyes and said ‘Thai Kuo.’ I suddenly twigged to the range of meanings of ‘-Kuo,’ a word that had hitherto only been a barely noticed suffix appended to the long defunct historical Manchukuo.

Hope you all are safe! Hope this hurricane isn’t affecting you!

"Basically free adjacent..." Truer words my man, truer words!

I especially liked the deeper dive into the historical perspective.

10:00 so Zhang Zuolin understood how to win at Tropico and other city sims...

I might be very picky but at 13:00 where the map highlights countries, German is highlighted in its post-ww1 borders while the Soviet Union is highlighted in its pre-ww1 borders. ^ ^ ... Since we talking post ww1 at this time, there should be a nice patch of unhighlighted land called Poland between the two.

Another "No idea it even existed" episode! You guys ROCK!

Check out the background of the painting @ 3:46. Scaling the wall with a human pyramid!

the crest looks real cool and that dust cover is a BIG gadget to have on there. does it rattle? should keep most stuff out as long as closed.

Guido Schriewer
