Diners, pizza, and bagels. The few redeeming qualities of my home state.

Steven Faiello

You mentioned a gun range having legal issues that you loaned to? Do they by chance not have a legal fund set up, or do you feel that sharing it may cause issues for the channel? And yes by all means keep the politics to a minimum, I agree completely with the method and ethical approach Othais has.

TpzBlau

I can definitely relate to the "hyperbole". I work for a gun shop in New York, and when the SAFE Act passed, it was understandably a concern. However, everyone I knew started adding on things to it that were NOT in the text of the act, just because they "heard it from a buddy". I was against the law, but had to talk quite a few friends down who were certain the black helicopters were landing any minute and detention camps were being formed. The hyperbole is real on BOTH sides and thanks for addressing that!

If it's guns for Primer that you are talking about then I am struggling to think what they might be!? Ian's done 11mm Vickers, so it's not that. Is there anything British you have not done? You ain't done the potato digger or Mondragón, and Royal Armouries have both; and I have occasionally told random passer by soldiers about them if they don't adopt correct defensive positions in time. There always seem to be a coach loads of soldiers wandering about in there every time I visit.

Bradwan

Everyone knows the USA is BIG; and you'll drive 50 miles to get a good pizza. In Britain you'd pack sandwiches before setting off to drive 50 miles; but you two talking about driving to Texas brings it home just how different you are. Here Lands End to John O'Groats is believed to be the longest drive you can do. Google maps reckons you could do it now in 15 hours; including 1 accident; 11 road works; and at least 9 speed traps. If you drove for 8 straight hours in a straights line from anywhere you be in the sea before your hours were up: and that's just one of many weirdnesses.

Bradwan

Laxatives. XD

I agree to the stay out of politics priciple, because it does not fit to the structure of the candarsenal content imho. I disagree on the inrange part. But inrange has a very different kind of content type imho.

fi

Very excited for the Berdan 2 episode.

Timothy Billow

"Don't give the Texans things to talk about" LOL TOO LATE!!! The distance, as the crow flies, from Texline, TX (up north, right next to the OK/NM border) to Brownsville, TX (down south on the coast by the Rio Grande) is just about the same distance as Charleston, SC to Shreveport, LA. Or for the Europeans, from Paris to just east of Budapest.

Christopher Dooley

Care to share what type of roof top tent you have? How has it held up?

PHILLIP DOUBLE U

But if you ever send something *to* Italy, it will take 6 months to get there (as it sits in Italian Customs).

Brian Ingram

Having been a lot of places with the military, EVERYONE says this about wherever they live or are near. Especially when they first arrive to their new place. It seems drivers are crazy everywhere, but it's having to adjust to the Local Flavor of Crazy that makes you notice it.

Brian Ingram

South Carolina is notorious for having the exit sign pointing at the exit you just drove past.

Brian Ingram

But I get things from Italy in like 6 days. idk...

Sopwith Cameltoe

The books. They can be such a pain. I have had 2 stuck in Germany since early December. They're locked up because of Covid, or something. Estimated delivery is March, and creeps forward one day, with each day that passes. Another non-book is stuck with them. And now I have a book stuck in France. No estimated delivery. It's just sitting in customs.

Sopwith Cameltoe

Another terrific audio podcast that is proverbial gravy on the video cake. Do please continue to share appearances of the gang on other videos & podcasts. I welcome a C&Rsenal addendum segment to perceived "political" topics when firearms freedom may be affected. (Not only the US but other countries as well ... including Texas & Alaska ;-) ) I'm checking out "This Week's in Guns: 347" now. Spot on Othias.. - South Carolinian stranded in the Land of Lincoln.

C&Rsenal

I just don't want to ruin a good bit of history by forcing a bunch of politics on everything.

C&Rsenal

but... why?

C&Rsenal

Duly noted! Thank you.

C&Rsenal

I deeply want to cover the potato digger and its piston adaptation as well. Just haven't had the chance. If we make it to the UK, I suspect we'll be targeting pieces that only exist there and no where else though!

C&Rsenal

Always tell us what's weird so we can appreciate our own universe!

C&Rsenal

She read this off to me.

C&Rsenal

Truth is, no one really knows anything about a place unless they live there for a while.

General Jack Ripper

If you go through san antonio, be careful of the drivers. They are nuts. Same with houston. Actually, just assume that almost every texas city has people that cant drive. If anyone can think of exceptions to this rule, name them (but lets be honest).

Gage

you are right. get ANY politics into the show and some trolls will freak out. people will never get over misused guns because of politics. stick to the mechanics designs and functions only. espeacially if we ever reach wwII with regimes.

Guido Schriewer

How dare you tease the 1911 and not come back to it...

Old Man Winter

There is a gun YouTube channel whose proprietor had politics that I disagree with. I did not mind until he announced he would flog his ideology on the channel. And that if one did not like it, he was happy to see such leave. Then I ceased my Patreon support.

Robin Roberts

Need a reaction video of Ian falling in love with the Kel-Tec.

Chairman

Hi!

John Klear

I'm from Ohio, we have the logos for the food places on our exit signs. I live in Vermont now, and it's actually illegal to have advertising signs on the highway including telling you whats at an exit.

Erik Schmitz

Mae Responding: Actually I have an iron stomach, the McRib I can eat all day long. Now if I eat half a quart of white sauce, that has produced negative results.

C&Rsenal

Mae Responding: I never even considered this, but kinda would make sense.

C&Rsenal

Mae Responding: lol, we were recommended a bit too late in the game, but the invite is nice!

C&Rsenal

Mae Responding: Hi John!

C&Rsenal

You are probably heading to Uvalde, Texas, the hometown of VP John Nance Garner. You probably could stay at Garner State Park (a few miles north of Uvalde) which is very popular in summer because of the Frio River. Uvalde is about 50 miles west of San Antonio on US 90. If you come into SA on I-10 from Houston, you can get through the heavy traffic of SA best by just staying on I-10 through the city.

James A. Boatright

The Potato Digger served a few placesi the Great War in its original form. The Russians used them in 7.62, and I’ve seen a 6.5 version mounted on a pedestal mount on an Italian MAS boat from the war.

John Klear

100% agree and appreciate no politics on the channel videos. The exception is fine of course if brought up in that matter. Totally fair.

Eric Sammywaifu

In California most of our stops have logos of the eateries on the exit sign, and they also have large billboard signs you can see from the highway. The exception is in actual urban areas like LA, there aren't signs that show anything cause every street has hundreds of places. There are many places that are open late at night at least before covid),

Eric Sammywaifu

I will check it out; but while a foreigner in your own country is great for opening your eyes to things you never noticed; any foreigner in an other country is going to be surprised. So Mae and Othias just rambling about all their normal arse pain stuff has way more colour and detail than an outsiders view.

Bradwan

I seem to remember that some gun chap called Ian got to fire all kinds of British bullpups there. On the other hand he might have been offering a book deal in exchange.

Bradwan

Truth! Have witnessed this phenomenon all my life, as it has shut down two of the outdoor ranges closest to the town I grew up in [Pasadena, CA: specifically, the FABULOUS Pasadena city range in Eaton Cyn, & the Fish Cyn. range Duarte.] Fortunately, if your pockets are deep enough and you're committed enough, there IS a way to stop it related to real estate law [at least here in the PRK; I never took a realty class for any other state, but given most US laws, it probably applies to 75% of the other states in the USA too.]

Bruce Brodnax

The 1895 was adapted & adopted for air service as the Marlin-Rockwell; they changed the flappy "digger" piston to a straight-line design put a lighter air-cooled barrel on... All that being said, I don't think the Pattern Room is all that interested in letting visitors try on the various historical objects in their care...

Bruce Brodnax

If you haven't stumbled on it already, there's the Lost in the Pond channel on YT. All about a Brit bloke's misadventures here in the colonies...

Bruce Brodnax

You've got to be joking...

Bruce Brodnax

People who knowingly move in next to a gun range aren't being stupid, they are buying low and selling high. They moved in next door for the explicit reason of getting the gun range shut down to raise the value of the property that they bought on the cheap. This is not just a problem with gun ranges, race tracks and small regional airports are constantly under threat by this.

Jonathon Payne

Could just substitute the McRib, honestly.

James McKenzie

One Texas equals approximately 8.39 South Carolinas.

Adam Mills

Is there any chance you would be allowed to fire the Colt–Browning M1895 or the Mondragón that are in the Royal Armouries? Have you asked Jonathan? Having written that though: I know the Mondragón served in limited numbers in the air; but I don't know that the potato digger did.

Bradwan

Even if I lost all interest in history, and gun history, and guns, I would be tempted to keep paying my five English Pounds a month just to hear about life in the weird parallel universe that is the USA. Us outsiders can see US for every watching minute of our lives; but it takes a couple of yeehaw ramblers to show us that we still know nothing.

Bradwan

I just recently discovered I live in one of the 3 (soon to be 2) states that don't number exits based on mileage, but lists them in numerical order i.e. Exit 1 is always followed by Exit 2 no matter how far apart they are. Massachusetts is about to start renumbering all their exits to be mile-based, so woe upon all those who don't update their GPS maps.

moosemaimer

When is Subtimus Prime going to appear on Ian's PCC course?

James McKenzie

OK Mae, 1 Texas = 8.388 SC (268,597 sq mi vs 32,020 sq mi) per Wikipedia

Wayne Dygert

As someone from NJ, we want to avoid the people from Maryland & Virginia because those people come up here. So in order to avoid those horrible drivers, we go further south, to stay next to the Ocean and similar climates. Not difficult to figure out, you just have to adjust your thinking

Doug G

Laxatives...this is why I listen.

I can't find C&Rsenal listed on their site; My category suggestion: Most Influential Female!

I am from Wisconsin an our exits say restaurants, gas stations, and hotels on them. We even have signs for waysides ( rest stop).

Adam Junemann

CRAP! I forgot, EMAIL the gun lists! It's hard to search patreon, discord, etc.

C&Rsenal

Should have to stop in Jersey we have dinners every where open 24/7

Michael Bond

Above the Mason-Dixon, we are all technically Yankees. Although all Americans are Yankees to non Americans. Damn Yankees are a separate category. Illinois has that mostly too, but a lot of billboards along the highways. Try the Thornton's at exit 90 on I-80, Ottawa- on the way to Rock Island Auction from Chicago.

TankDestroyerSarge

Don't forget putting the exit sign where it belongs, before the off ramp instead of after. Iowa is the only offender of "you have just missed exit number" school of signage that I have had to suffer.

Andrey Gardner

Ya same in Wisconsin but my question is do we classify as Yankees in the Midwest?

Austin Minder

Is Ian the real reason it takes 3 or four takes for these podcasts?

Austin Minder

NGL, I heard “Texas” and I immediately perked up... Uvalde- you-Val-dee Go to Bucees to pee, you can hold it

Pat Houlihan

On the whole Sodom's touch thing. I've gotta believe your Honda bike didn't let you down. OK except for maybe that stupid Molex they used on the alternator out put.

Wayne Dygert

Please, please, please keep to your current principles regarding politics. This is exactly what I want, and exactly all I can stand. Political takes are why I've started avoiding InRange.

David Axel Hansen

I have to say I love your lack of politics. My wife likes watching political stuff. I listen to you so I can ignore it. (My life is stressful enough). I also agree you should address issues that affect your show

Derrick Smith

Laxatives, LOL!

Lee McLeroy

Come to Minnesota, our signs DO say what's at the exit.

David Axel Hansen

One of the best things about retirement is no longer having to get on an airplane for business (2M+ air miles over 39 years). Thanks for the Nebraska shout out (my home state and where I retired). Safe trip to Texas where I lived for 20 years. Uvalde is pronounced ewe-vall-dee.

David Hemsath

I’m so glad to hear Othias express his desire to hold the P-50. As soon as I laid eyes on that I had a feeling he would like the thing. I also like the thing.

Carson Mentzer

I was in private aviation for ten years and my father for more and I ABSOLUTELY agree with you. (I’ll avoid scaring other patrons with horror stories)

Derrick Smith

WolframAlpha tells me that it's about eight South Carolinas per one Texas

Chris Stochaj

I'm originally from Southern California, living in Maine now....and yeah, hate how basically everything is closed so dang early.

Scott Howrey

I understand plane discomfort and everything, though statistical flying is safer than driving... Though I too rather drive then let someone mess with my butthole, glad I never had them mess with my butthole.

Scott Howrey

Much better.

Mae Responding: Sorry for anyone who clicked on the previous upload. For some reason some could play it, most couldn't. Looks like this one is working for everyone. Enjoy!

This is a great project. Thank you.
