I understand and totally support that. But coming from a german point of you, a place were which you guys think of as totally mad regarding gun laws, your channel would entirely possible and probably be encouraged by the government for its educational value. It is quite easy to have collector-licences for weapons here and a channel like yours would totally qualify. Source: I am a teacher and collector.

Yannik Brand

Getting to this one a week late. I can vouch for how tall Hickok45 is... I randomly parked cattycorner from him at the Tulsa Gun Show a few years back... and speaking of the Tulsa Gun Show (see what I did there), if Othias and the crew should want to go to their 11 acre spring show sometime, I would extend an offer for the best steak dinner in Tulsa afterwards!

Judge Roy Bean

Glad to hear it!

C&Rsenal

The bigger problem is we have been able to shoot exactly zero museum pieces. We've been 100% dependent on private collectors and so laws restricting private ownership would wipe those pieces out of our ability to cover them.

C&Rsenal

Well dang. I just like the compactness.

C&Rsenal

We're going to ship a chrimmas card with the orders after thanksgiving. I promise it's great.

C&Rsenal

I honestly don't know. I suspect it will mire down as YT has dang near unlimited resources to fight with.

C&Rsenal

I would certainly do it again, though I argue Tulsa would make a better meeting point.

C&Rsenal

There IS a PO Box listed on the episode descriptions

C&Rsenal

ah but then I have an inventory requirement. I mean, I already keep one but that's for me.

C&Rsenal

Same as before, thanks for the hospitality!

C&Rsenal

Thank you all for being such kind hosts!

C&Rsenal

Every other week and I'm taking notes to make sure I have talking points.

C&Rsenal

I try but apparently I'm always whistling to dogs...

C&Rsenal

Yes I know that and I was actually talking about that. A 100 year old Chauchat is obviously an important historical artifact and will not be banned. He may need to do more paperwork to proof that he is not a lunatic but that should be easy.

Yannik Brand

I'm really enjoying these. You guys are great in the regular episodes, so peaking behind the curtain to hear you talk about your off hours is fun. Also, I definitely wouldn't be disappointed to see Suzie.

Steven Faiello

It's not so much that they will ban Othais from making the show, it's that they might limit what guns he has access to for making episodes.

Steven Faiello

Man, I don't think there is a politician that will do anything that would stop you from working on your channel. Guncontrol is a totally different topic. Even here in Germany we could easily have this kind of channel.

Yannik Brand

My buddy got one of the .223 Survival Carbines. He was like you, super excited about it. It did not work and he ended up sending it back. He has a KSG and a Sub-2000 for Glock mags and it is his favorite rifles.

Jack Mahan

Love these. I had my grandson listen to the beginning because he loves Crozier.

Jack Mahan

What's the latest on the Youtube Union thing? Sorry to be off topic, but it is related to 2A issues!

Dr. B

These Ramblings are cool. I enjoy getting more of your personalities on these platforms. As for the 2A Rally, I have heard it will become an annual event. I have a couple of friends who spoke there, and I really want to attend in the future. Hopefully, I won't be stuck on a ship next time! I need to start travelling more to see these different shows and meet "gun people". Living in the wilds of Maine means extra travel distances, but at least we are a pro-gun "island" in an anti-gun Yankee region! Anyway, that's my ramble. Love the show, and I hope to meet you guys some day...even Suzie!

Nathan Boyan

You’re misusing the root of your adjective, we would all be in awe of the opportunity to have folks bring in historical guns and to interact with speakers, including yourselves, about why misconceptions aren’t really so. Maybe entrance fees can fund Mae in a ballon with a Winchester 1910 or Ian’s Berthichat carbine.

Will Sanders

I am so amazingly in favor of this idea.

Christopher James Henry

So what address should we send the Dinosaurs too?

Gerald Drake

Just avoid the legal risks and spend the $35 to get an 03 ffl again to avoid all the potential pitfalls.

Sleepy's good boy

What Steve just said!👆. Glad to meet you both. Keep up the good work. Rich. (The other Ruger Guy)😁

Richard Valenzi

Enjoyed meeting Othias and Susie this past weekend at the VGCA gun show. Glad you guys enjoyed the show.

Stephen Vaughn

Per Ted Sturgeon (science fiction author) 90% of everything is dreck.

Nuke Road Warrior

had a long drive today and got to listen to both of the podcasts. it was great keep it up if you can

Jared Kennedy

I'm pretty sure that buying a firearm on someone's behalf is always an illegal straw purchase, even if the background check is a non-issue. This very issue got appealed to the supreme court in 2014. They refused to strike it down, and the guy was convicted for buying a pistol on his uncle's behalf. See Abramski vs. United States. https://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/13pdf/12-1493_5468.pdf As far as the federal rules go, if a sale requires a 4473, then straw purchases are out. The exceptions I can think of are for gifts (where there is no money or barter exchanged between the 2nd & 3rd parties), and for purchases where a 4473 isn't required in the first place (in-state private sales, etc...) State laws are another level entirely. Be careful. P.S. Ryan Cleckner and his Trigger Words Podcast / Rocket FFL are awesome.

Stephen Lee

I appreciate that you stay apolitical.

RitalinGamer

So it would be full of Awe (good stuff)? Only thing terrible about it would be the amount of work it would require. I've helped run a few gaming cons and even a small con is a ton of work.

Tiger in man's clothing

Come to Arizona and I'll make you some of my special "Mexican" cornbread. Hell, I'll send you the recipe and you can make it yourself if you want. Also, sweet or not sweet? I greatly dislike every version of baking soda cornbread I've ever been guilt tripped into eating.

Tiger in man's clothing

That sounds awful though...

C&Rsenal

90% of cornbread is bad cornbread. Good cornbread is great.

C&Rsenal

ehhhh I dunno. I am probably #2 in the Youtube > History > Gun department. But that's not so terribly many people.

C&Rsenal

I've never heard of a straw purchase outside a check, which makes sense because the only reason to NOT purchase one for someone is that that person is a felon or otherwise prohibited.

C&Rsenal

He's kind of a dick. Just hides unless you bribe him with food.

C&Rsenal

I'm very sorry to have missed you then! I am always very happy to say hello.

C&Rsenal

Ok. . .so your guinea pig believes in Castle Doctrine. This seems appropriate.

Erik

..... Am I the only one that kinda wishes for a C&Rsenal Con?

Daniel R.

Flat cornbread just sounds wrong.

Luis Rivero

My local Bass Pro doesn't appear to ever have used guns either, but we are surrounded by well-stocked independent shops, so that might be part of it. One of my favorite outlets is just across state lines, but they get so much business from here they maintain a tiny office back across the river; so you do the whole purchase there, then a clerk takes your gun, drives it across the border, you follow and fill out a form, and they give you your gun.

moosemaimer

My understanding of the law is that someone purchasing a firearm *on behalf of someone else* (not a gift) is always illegal, no matter if it goes through a nics check and is transferred through an ffl. I'm sure you could get 5 varying opinions from atf on it, but that's the only way I've been a le to parse the explanation language on the 4473 form. (Not a lawyer either, but I've gone through the rocket ffl course in prep for getting my 07ffl)

Matt Lohafer

At first, I was like what is this, almost shut it off. Glad I didn't. I think it is important to inform people. Thanks.

Michael Kibler

Lemme be clear here - I am fairly sure I disagree with you rather strongly on personal firearms ownership, but I can get past that because you make excellent content. But I absolutely CANNOT understand or accept someone who enjoys cornbread. It is so awful.

Veteran of the Mushroom Wars

Crozier sounds like he's possibly a dwarf wombat.

Minion

You were surprised that people recognized you????? Come on, you are one of the more recognizable characters in the firearms enthusiast (gun nut) community.

Richard Anderson

Ha, I though Mae looked different IRL.

Clovis Chitwood

In reference to at 5:35, I often listen to the Primer episodes functionally like a podcast while I work and drive and I have to say, it doesn't matter how descriptive you are, I'm going to end up playing the episode twice... The visual elements of the video are just so well executed that I can't bring myself to miss out on them.

Diamondflaw

I’m not a lawyer and I don’t even play one on TV but for your transfer question heres my opinion on the matter. You giving the other party money for the item is no issue, but then they cant directly give it to you since your an out of state resident. The seller would need to ship it to your FFL in SC to do the transfer there. The seller could send it themselves but its easiest for them to have an FFL send it to have better record keeping, and in the case of handguns not have to overnight it since FFLs can send handguns via Priority mail USPS to other FFLs but citizens must send things overnight.

John Elliott

It was great getting to say hi to you at the rally.

Clovis Chitwood

I was there, drove over 1000 miles to get there. It was a great rally and saw both of you there but did not want to be a groupie.

Steve T.

I’m enjoying these
