The Ramble: Attempt 1

Comments

I got a really shitty 1936 mosin if you need it.

Matthew Scheer

Would love to see a video on the Lee Enfield with Mae and Mike from BotR.

Ronald Carrier

That STEN sounds so steam punk, like some small steam engine... I’m happy I keep rewatching your stuff when I need organized background noise or want to refresh the history after one of Ian’s videos. Keep up the good work and keep on plugging away at the amazing history!

Will Sanders

23:52 "...I'm not a designer..." Man, I can still remember the first episode that I watched, specifically the intro. That still, with a low key voice over, then the pan along the gun rack with the strings in the background, and then "Hi, I'm Othias, and this is the..." I was hooked. Don't sell yourself short, you're faking it just fine.

Minion

I’m sure it’s came up, but have you thought about releasing each video in sections to try to get around having a single video that can be demonetized?

Matthew Nelson

Your website is amazing. I think I will start going there first for all of my gun related needs. Keep up the great work.

Zachary Tenney

I've finally got around to listening to this and I really enjoyed it. You and Mae are great to watch on screen so it's nice to hear what you're thinking and doing behind the scenes. Also, it was great to hear about the Phoenix Phart videos. I remember him from the old days on /k/ and Operatorchan. Back then he had a esoteric collection. It's good to see the years have added to it. I'll be subscribing to his channel as well!

Steven Faiello

Oooh. I'll see if I can get it together!

C&Rsenal

Othias, you mentioned trying to get up to to the DC area, if your bike is up to it, for the 2nd Amendment Rally on November 2nd. If your still in the Area that weekend my Collector's Organization, the Virginia Gun Collector's Association, is holding their Gun Show at the Prince William County Fairground in Manassas VA that weekend too. It bills itself as a "no junk" show with the focus on collecting and informative displays.

John Elliott

Understood. I was actually pleasantly surprised to find that there was indeed video from the Iv8888 shooting event some other stuff further embedded later into the video. That gave me my fix! Appreciate all that you do to feed our Milsurp and historical firearms addictions!

Matt Faller

My bad--I listened to the video, and *now* I get why it should be the Sub2K.

Michael Stueber

Ah... makes sense. The liability of such a thing being open would be rough. That being said, if a bunch of gun content creators and a company like Brownells were to host something like that for viewers... I would probably pay a pretty decent fee to drive cross country and shoot historic guns with minor celebrities... jus' sayin ...

Judge Roy Bean

It is an industry invite thingy. We got in thanks to friendship, but are not the target really

C&Rsenal

That means 2 hrs of setup and breakdown sadly

C&Rsenal

But then how do we make it private?

C&Rsenal

@ ~36:40 -- I don't get it? Why would the slap-off charging handle be a problem? IF YOU JUST MOUNT THE RDS OUT AT THE ***FRONT*** OF THE GUN LIKE YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO DO, then when the Sub2k is folded, the RDS is *behind* the cocked handle and Bob's yer mum's favorite brother... [NB: yes, if you're using a magnifier, then you still have potential damage issues. I guess that's what monocles are for?..]

Bruce Brodnax

OK, so my Youtube viewing strategy should be to watch a new video as soon as it comes out, then wait two weeks and replay it a few times. Like, I can totally do that.

Leonard Heinz

I liked that! This was great. Keep doing it this way. You guys is crazy!

Jack Mahan

She has tried teens ... Men's sizes fits her better. The problem is that in general within the same brand and style, the Men's pattern is generally more functional than the Women's. She can find women's sizes that fit her, but she's looking for a brand that doesn't sacrifice function.

Arturo Ceron

Depending upon her stature, teen (boys) hunting attire might be a prime sector to investigate further...

Bruce Brodnax

Speaking only for myself, I won’t cancel or reduce my Patreon contribution if you go to once every three weeks. I used to put in those kind of insane “death march” hours before I retired, but not like you and your colleagues have been doing for too long.

David Hemsath

This format works for me. Very much enjoyed listening to you guys "ramble"

Wayne Dygert

I appreciate your story on the rim. I'm wholly in agreement. When shit happens, I'm always happy when there is a clear path from problem to solution.

Richard Anderson

Well done and good format. Hearing about this range day makes me interested... Is it open to the public, or at least is there a way for someone to sign up? Where would one look to get that information for the next time it is held? Sounds like it is an amazingly fun time where a viewer may be able to actually experience more of the awesome things you bring us weekly.

Judge Roy Bean

Brilliant. Please continue this! The success of your show is that you are genuinely like able people. You are the type of folks we all wish we had as neighbors. This avenue of connecting with your audience gives us the opportunity to hear how you approach the best firearms show out there. Primer and Anvil are two very strong high points to my week. I cut the cable ages ago and your shows are my “Must See Tv”. Thanks for spending the time. I will always give back the time to watch and listen!

Loren Hermanson

When it comes to practical clothing for the outdoors and shooting, my wife has given up shopping in the "women's" department. She now buys men's (better fit, room to move, useable pockets, etc). So she would like to know what brands work for Mae (in general for the outdoors, not just for shotgun shooting).

Arturo Ceron

Ooh, or the Hi-Point carbine. On one of the InRange or FW Q&A videos (IIRC; sorry if it was you, C&Rsenal guys), somebody asked a snarky question about bringing real crap like Hi-Points to the great War, and Ian pointed out that a HP Carbine would be amazing on that battlefield. I want to say he said something like "France would consider it the ultimate secret weapon." An April Fools video about Ferdinand and Guillaume Hautpoint and their crusade for adoption of the Carabine Yeet modèle 1917 would really be something.

Michael Stueber

PLEASE do an April Fools Primer vid about the Sub2k.

Christopher Dooley

I like this as a way of giving us bonus background information, but I have to admit I kept wanting to see Othias and Mae on camera talking as opposed to just hearing their voices.

Matt Faller

They are not mutually exclusive, and the sooner they realise that the better

Bort

YouTube wants to make money on videos, they just don't want YOU to make any money on videos.

Tiger in man's clothing

I like it a lot, the podcast format makes my commute a lot easier. Only real suggestion is that a mirror to Spotify/SoundCloud/Apple Podcasts might be a nice option.

Chris Stochaj

Take my money !
