Interestingly enough, I have a Romanian 1954 Mosin Nagant that uses the same sight adjustment system.

2019-10-27 15:30:36 +0000 UTCIt's a quibble, but my dad, a WWII vet, corrected me when I referred to the M1 Garand he carried as a "gun". "It's a rifle. Get caught calling it a gun in basic training and you'd have to sleep with it." Guns are big caliber stuff.

That seems rather long. I think you might have meant 2 or 3 millimeters, which is around a 1/10 of an inch. (Yeah, I'm an engineer.
