I'm laughing because as amazingly educational of a history channel as this is, it's the gunniest.

Raymond Gross

Well done as always. Thanks for going back and fleshing this one out.

Richard Anderson

22:00 key new bit of firearms terminology: liftydoodle.

Andrew MacDougall

I swear my annotations are off for the episode, but I keep seeing a floating head of Gun Jesus in the back smiling and nodding.

Chairman

Really love the remake. Just try to avoid doing a whole run of just remakes.

Jack Andersen

No rush to watch this since it's a redo. Looking forward to the added content, but can pace myself since it's not totally *NEW* new, just partly new... ;-)

Bruce Brodnax

Thank you for redoing this episode! I've been hoping and waiting for this for a long time.

Spencer R

Yea! Good to see a redo to your current standards for such an important rifle.

DaveJD

Imagine how the Germans felt - between the M.71 and the M.71/84 that's over 2 million rifles rendered kinda obsolete over a period of about 10 years. The appox 1.1 Million M.71/84 had a service life of, IIRC, about two years! There was a real risk in jumping first.

"Danger beans" - shamelessly stolen & added to my instructing lexicon. We'll have to see about "lifty-doodle" XD That's another gun that it's really interesting to ponder the economy and politics of. That whole period was defined by sinking MASSIVE amounts of money into the latest battle rifle and maybe finding it outdated next week. The Lebel may very well be the poster child for that - after hastily cranking out 3 million, it seems that they couldn't get rid of it or its goofy cartridge.

Erik

feel like I've seen this before. 🤔

Andrew MacDougall

Having been a fan since the beginning I am so happy to see the Lebel get the episode it deserved! Excellent job O & M you've come a long way.

JPhilibert

Now when Othais says "War were declared" I can say "Got the tee shirt" ;) and soon I'll add "And the book" Warm fuzzy feel kinda like a Guinea pig with a raspberry...

Wayne Dygert

Honestly I got a bit of a headache trying to understand the article I found.

C&Rsenal

This is correct.

C&Rsenal

Lovely detail on poudre B’s development.

Dom Hogan

Yeah they said awhile back they are redoing some of the first Primer videos..I believe one other will be on the Gewehr 98.

James G. Jones

No this one goes for 1:04 hours, I'd say we might be rediing some of the earlier episodes.

Peter Diven

Isnt this the same primer episode from June 6 2015?

Oh man this is going to be good
