Weekly Review: Back on Wednesdays

It has been an exciting week so let's get into it:

1. Growth for the channel has been somewhat limited but the MG08/15 manged about 10k views before demonetization.  That seemed to pull in some new viewers!

Just two days ago some 20-odd videos were suddenly demonetized.  After appealing and emails etc, every Anvil was denied, shooting videos vary, and all but two Primers are monetized.  Those two failed appeal before: episodes 101 and 102 of all things.

2. The final Thank video has been delivered.  8 Thanks!

3. I spent last week scrambling my scripting because, as usual, I delayed too long.  Sorry if I've been a bit quiet on email etc because of that, BUT, I'm pretty excited for these next two episodes to air.

4. I did a video with Karl: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzaK3kJVOEI

It is about monetization.  Well, about how we really just care about reach more than monetization.

5. On a personal note, I now own a sub-2000 because it upset someone that I might buy one.  I'm adding all of the accessories as well.  It's going to be needlessly over complicated just so I can irritate my friends.

6. Crozier has decided he does not like it when the keys hit him on the head while he is shaking them.  This angers him so he shakes them harder as punishment.  The keys appear to also be angry, as they hit him on the head harder and more frequently.

7. I have been having a lot of fun digging through old periodicals trying to find references to early repeating shotguns in order to pin down some dates on evolving designs.  Hathi Trust has a bunch of Hunter Trader Trapper and they are... unique.  Be warned, some of the ads and articles are... dated.

8. When you are at your local gun shops, keep an eye out for Union Fire Arms shotguns.  I'm gathering serial and features data to see if I can unpack their transitions.  Other models so far are pretty well in hand.  We've easily exceeded our expected time to acquire and are way below budget there.  It is definitely going to be cheaper to buy than to ship, insure, and do the communication overhead for loans on this series.

9. I'm making a quick trip to the North East so if anyone knows of large gun shops, especially the sort that horde old shotguns, between Charleston and roughly Pennsylvania, let me know!

All right gang, that's the download.  Lots of you are receiving shirts so that's good too!  Internationals, let me know when they start showing.  Australians... God speed....

Thanks again for all the support!  I promise we are not yet out of interesting guns for the war!

Fellow Aussie here. Got mine today too! I gave up trying to explain to my family why I had a sheet of stickers of machine guns, fruit and guinea pigs.

Adam Snook

Australian address here: t-shirt arrived today!

JPS

That gun seriously goes way back in the commercial market.

C&Rsenal

Thanks!

Once we have some. Trouble is all this video expansion means we have not finished another series of poster shots. Trying to photograph every this or that in a category is hard!

C&Rsenal

Nice, thanks for the support!

C&Rsenal

Duly noted!

C&Rsenal

I have tried the trigger upgrade from mcarbo and it makes it a reasonable firearm.

C&Rsenal

I have only been tugged on when handling it OFF range. Once firing I have not been caught strangely

C&Rsenal

Thank you for the tip!

C&Rsenal

My apologies.

C&Rsenal

We currently have a private group at work. Sadly I cannot make public lists as, and this has happened, there are several large collectors out there who will outbid us on rare pieces just to say "no." I wish I was kidding.

C&Rsenal

Thanks for the support!

UK addressee here- t-shirt has just arrived- and I forgot about the sticker sheet! Nice.

Dom Hogan

Is there a list of the shotguns you're looking for? It's not rare, but I've got a Remington Model 11 I'd be willing to lend you guys.

T-Shirt arrived (UK) today. Thanks - and for the stickers as well. They have however, started my wife singing that Damn song again...

In the region, Clark Brothers is the largest and most diverse. I could spend a whole weekend there. http://www.clarkbrosguns.com/

I had a sub-2000. Fun shooter! Let me know if your charging handle picks at your beard. Hurts like hell. Mine got sold off rather than shaving.

John R. Dorn

I just picked up a Sub2k Gen 2. A great little shooter. My only complaint is the trigger, it’s not as good as it should be, especially after shooting my RDB. If Kelgren can make a bullpup trigger that good why can’t he do it for something as simple as the Sub2k. Guess a trigger upgrade is in its future, just not right now.

Lee Hetrick

Right? I was going to mention KTP...

Being from Maine, the idea that PA is the "northeast" to you is.......amusing!

If you make it into PA, we're the Land of Fudd Guns; even the flea markets usually have a bunch of the old Sears-branded whitelabel shotguns. Hit any little rinky-dink rural gun shop you pass, because I can't remember ever seeing one that didn't have a dusty rack of old working-man shotguns and .30-30 leverguns. It's usually next to the case of old Ruger hunting and silhouette sixguns. Ironically, the big shops seem to make an effort to stay more mainstream, so they're more likely to have modern guns and milsurp. If you happen to overlap with one of the big Eagle Arms gun shows ( http://eagleshows.com/ ), they tend to get bad press online specifically because they're usually heavier on 20th-century sport guns and lighter on the trendy stuff than most people want (and that's even the FFLs, so an interstate shotgun sale would be fine).

Michael Stueber

love my new shirts as well, even the fiancée wanted and got one. thank you.

Jared Kennedy

Keep up the good work! Any plans to resume poster campaigns?

Timothy Billow

Loving my shirts, also #6 made my morning.

I've read loads of issues of Hunter Trader Trapper while researching the story of the Vetterli rifle in the USA. It's awesome. Think that Ginseng was invented by some Hippy in 1967? - Think again!

John S Wren

Nice! Thanks for the support

C&Rsenal

It's green.

C&Rsenal

Noted, thank you!

C&Rsenal

Me and Tao, internet buds.

C&Rsenal

...x-files music plays...

C&Rsenal

Oh man, yeah that thing could swing the corner

C&Rsenal

Thanks for the support!

I went there once the year before we started the show and had a great time. We still shake our fists at Peanut Pete.

C&Rsenal

I'm hoping not to jinx it, but next week might be the best thing I've shot yet.

C&Rsenal

No thanks, I think some Just for Gun but not regularly

C&Rsenal

Shirts arrived today and I'm in New Zealand. Wasn't expecting them for another month or so. I'm looking forward to wearing them while I'm out and about.

Noted.

Thanks for the support!

My tshirt arrived yesterday here in Germany. It looks even better in person. Thanks! :)

TheBigOne0305

Enjoy your new (to you?) PCC.

The Green Top in Ashland, VA usually has a halfway decent stock of antique/used guns including shotguns. I-95 exit 86B. There is also a gun store on Hull Street in Richmond, VA called Bob Moates, which is on the small side but is crammed with antique guns of all sorts.

It’s weird commenting here when your using the discord page. In a good way

Seagunner

It’s only a year and you can get a new design🤪

Seagunner

T-Shirts arrived and are great. Also, word to the wise on the Sub-2000, don't drop the hammer with the bolt out. Had a friend bring me his and ask very nicely to get it back into one piece.

Hunter Compton

I’m angry at myself for not getting some shirts

Jack - Cartridge_Gram

Got my t-shirts in the day before my birthday. Keep up the great work.

Zachary Tenney

Feel free to stop in Jamesville, NC at Mackey's (http://www.mackeyslanding.com/). They claim to be the largest gun shop in the world, and while I can't confirm the claim, I've never been to one with a larger selection (new and used). They are just off highway 64 a bit east of interstate 95; if you go, be sure to stop at the little gift store next door for peanuts, fudge, and muscadine wine...

Stan Gregory

Thanks for the update. Looks like your going to be busy for the fall. Safe travel and I’ll keep an eye out for that particular shotgun. My shirts arrived last week and I’m very happy with them.

James Nugent

Just out of curiosity, have any of the “Thank” or “Just for Gun” videos been demonetized?
