Ok :-)

@ ~14:40: Wait, what? No alignment of the cylinder w/ the ejection rod? Just like a Ruger then! ::) That threaded barrel arbor holding the front half of the pistol on is cribbed straight off the LeMat grapeshot revolver btw. ;-) And in Mae's defense, I always have a hard time keeping the RT-LL sequence straight when the screw is upside-down from my perspective... @48:52 -- "Why left open-top?" Because BP; open-top revolvers don't bind up from BP fouling as quickly as solid-frame [a la' Rem '58] revolvers do, since there is a greater area for egress of the fouling when being fired. Yes, the '73 Colt Peacemaker, S&W Schofield, etc. are all closed frames and have excellent reputations, I'm just saying that experience in the decade prior to the 1870 G's adoption [and yes, the U.S. CW had foreign observers, just like the later Russo-Japanese war did] would have made that choice a relative no-brainer...

Another great episode. Someday, after WWI is over, a series on the development of the revolver would be very interesting. Colt Patterson to .44mag. Anyway an idea to consider. Happy New Year to all.

Did you say 45 AARP on purpose? Cause that's hilarious and I'm stealing it.
