Battle Wagon

Mae sold her Equinox, a car designed from the ground up to cause back pain. I have been mostly riding my Royal Enfield these days so I surrendered my Jeep to her. We used some of the proceeds to buy this, the majestic 1999 Suburban.Given our 80" light box and ever expanding list of equipment and volunteers, plus the extreme discomfort during our 16 hour trip to Springfield, we find this a wise investment. It will need, however a lot of work to get right.Jay and I did, however take it 1,200 miles round trip to see the guys at H&K, the NRA Museum, and an impromptu visit to the Marines Museum in progress. All alongside Nathaniel from TFB.It limped home on an angry steering gear box. Which I am now attempting to remove in a cold Charleston drizzle.Stopping at gun and pawn shops along the way Jay found a nice wz.48

Someone beat on one of the newer 2011 C5 models hard... then it got smacked down into the pavement. Then I bought it and patched it up. Runs OK, looks OK. Which is nice because I don't have to baby it.

Praytell, what type of Enfield? I daily commuted on my old Iron Barrel 500 for a year - kickstart and all.

We don't have them here (Australia) but they look great! I'm somehow left pondering if there was some sort of special mix tape for the road trip. This just matches my mental image https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RmFnarFSj_U

Well, it was well lived in I guess. I never had that much attachment to my Suburban that I felt I needed to share my business so much ...butt ..good thing is that bed liner will make it all nice and almost new..just make sure you clean that out first..

This one was...well used. I think someone pooped in it. We are planning to strip the interior and bed liner it

I love suburbans. I used to sell cars..heh..(yeah I know..It was in college..and it paid for the whole year in three months)..trust me, I felt bad, but it was paying for my life at the time. I got a Suburban as reward for sales (to drive..not ownership.) I fell in love with that thing. It was a yacht to em. Fishing trips, shooting, camping, all and everything fit in back and me and my girlfriend could sleep in the back if the weather got too bad out in the boonies. I did not have to pau for gas though, I could fill on the dealerships card, so I did not have to swallow that expense. When I got my own after college, that was the one thing I completely disliked ..gas money for the monster tanks. Now I have trucks and suv's. But I still miss that yacht from college sometimes. With a Newfie and the kid and his stuff, one would make me a little more space now. Good luck with it!
