Na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na Batfolk!

I LOVE bats. They are my favorite animals in the world and I really want to do them justice in the my new dnd setting. Right now, after doing some research, I am undecided on what I want to do with them. Primarily, I am wondering if I should split them into two subraces. 

The first subrace is the small sized vamprie bat variant. The second is a medium sized fruit bat variant. There are many batfolk race attempts in 5e that use this same split, so I don't know if I want to go down that same road. The split makes sense and is probably expected. But how much should expectations factor into how I design my content? 

For now, I am working updating my previous batfolk rac, the Bakora, into a new and improved product of a race called the Yutec. I'm polishing mechanics and lore, but it's taking some time. But here is a taste of what is to come: 

### Yutec Traits

Your character gains bat-like capabilities.

***Ability Score Increase.*** Your Charisma and Constitution scores each increase by 1.     

***Age.*** (Under Development) 

***Alignment.*** Yamaya favor lawful Neutral and Zotsaca favor Lawful Evil. 

***Size.*** Your size is medium if you are Yamaya and small if you are Zotsaca.

***Speed.*** Your base walking speed is 30 feet. 

***Language.*** You can speak, read, and write Common and Yutecan. 

***Bat Wings.*** You have a flying speed equal to your walking speed. To use this speed, you can’t be wearing medium or heavy armor or be carrying more than half of your carrying capacity. Additionally, you cannot make attack rolls with anything that isn't a natural weapon or cast spells with somatic components while in flight. 

### Yamaya (Fruit bat) 

***Ability Score Increase.*** Your Charisma score increases by 1. 

### Zotsaca (Vampire Bat) 

***Ability Score Increase.*** Your Constitution score increases by 1. 

As you can see, pretty early development. But I hope this is exciting enough to want more!
