Well, I'm glad that's over. :D
For those who are puzzled, that's Flint on the right in the last panel.
Also, those are pacification troops employed against a conquered populace.

Way too uncomfortable sleep, way too comfortable sleep... Hard to choose here.

What we're looking at are Umiak "hardtroopers"; they're "full-replacement" cyborgs, with mechanical bodies and only the most irreplacable organic bits left -- the brain, nervous system and other organs. Some are thin and some are stout. As with Umiak vessels, there's a lot of variety.

Projectile weapons are not cost-effective tools of genocide... πͺ

Many of the Umiak naturally have a bladelike appendage, so this is a common feature on the cyborg Hardtroops as well. The one in the foreground is built for speed and close combat; the one behind it to the left is... not. :D

Shield to protect against objects that PK users throw at it, sword to kill PK users without projectiles that they can deflect back, multisegmented hand so PK users cant get hold on it, giant head so it will be harder for PK user to guess where the brain center is. Or it is just the rule of cool.

Interesting setup. Sword shield and a gun embedded into the shield. So what do they need melee weapons against? The sword I guess is useful for it's pure terror value thou. The shield could be useful against projectal weapons something an occupation force may find useful against hostile crowds but riot shields tend to be as large as a Roman scutum and often have a similar form. I guess that isn't needed with computer aided shield positioning.

Yup... no horrific mental images haunting your every waking moment here. Just some good old-fashioned Nightmare Fuel, freshly distilled from the memories of those deceptively cute blue girls Ensign J is sleeping with!
I so love this story, it just gets better with every page.
