Interesting idea. Though i do note that the Loroi stated they received Alex's radio transmission. And do we have any indication that Alex can actually transmit his thoughts? (I believe it is actually the opposite with him being unreadable by the Loroi). Also, we know from the Insider that Fireblade didn't have training in telepathic discipline and therefor "Leaks" information that other Loroi would normally shield by default. That may also be a factor in Alex's ability to catch her thoughts.

Or even some sort of long shot like, attention from a Farseer, or they unconsciously link up with the entire species at least a little while they sleep.
