I understand why Greg is not a fan of deliberating a site-wide game of the year list, but taking the easy way out, distilling everything into some spreadsheet with math, and avoiding some more difficult, challenging, or nuanced conversations is the profoundly more boring option. That said, I am the person who enjoyed those early Giantbomb game of the year discussions that are hours of deliberation, and sure, they probably are a bit frustrating at times, but also that's where some of the most valuable discussions came from. Being able to make a case for a game over another is just a lot more interesting of a process than some weighted list. But it's also much more time consuming and maybe KF simply doesn't have the type of resources for such a potentially longer form piece of content.
