I’m so excited to share this with you. My next video is about species that have only ever been seen once, twice, or thrice, and for three of the five species, there are no images available anywhere online.
For the first time, I decided to track down where the specimens are kept and request photographs of these incredibly rare animals. This is the very first publicly available image of Visagie’s Golden Mole (Chrysochloris visagiei), kindly provided by the Amathole Museum in King William’s Town, South Africa. I’m so grateful to them for making this possible.
The other images of specimens I’ve requested (an Australian bat and a South African lizard) might not arrive until September, but I couldn’t wait to share this one with you first.
