Catching Up

Catching Up

Hey, everybody. It's been about a month since I've made a full-length post, so there's a lot to discuss.

First off, I hope you all had a good October, an enjoyable Halloween, and the best for whatever it is you've been up to since the last time I posted.

At the start of last month, I released Episode 15. I'm assuming most of you have played through it at this point. This month, I plan on doing a recap and going over all of the details of what happened. As I've mentioned before, there were lots of big events in Episode 15, so there's plenty to discuss. Many of these things I can finally talk about after being so vague prior to the release.

Also this month, I want to talk about where things are going with Episode 16 and beyond. I have (using the term loosely) road maps and plans for the rest of the game and I want to share the details with you.

Full transparency, I did take it easy during October. Along with the mentioned mishap with my busted finger in September, I did want to take some time to recharge and take a break from the game for a moment. Along with dealing with life outside of the game, development can be overwhelming mentally when you've gotta sit down and get to it. Having said that, I've still been working on Episode 16. Just very slowly.

I do have some early preliminary work done for Episode 16. I have the plot outlined. I have all of the major sets built. I have the cast of characters ready. There are two things I do before the start of every episode. The first is I clean my machine out to make sure it's running properly. It's not a long process to dust my computer hardware but it's something I should be doing more often than I do. The second is all of the digital bookkeeping. I have a lot of different files and folders pertaining to develop. I always take the time to organize things so that when I start making new files for the next episode, everything is where I need it to be.

The early stages of rendering are always tough because you have literally nothing and you have to get the ball rolling before things start moving along. With the extended break I took in October, I'm going to aim for the first progress update in December.

To summarize, I'm going to talk about Episode 15 and then what lies ahead for the game. I have a whole batch of special renders I need to get to and there's a possibility I might have to push this month's into next month. And I also want to talk more philosophy now that a lot of important events have happened.

That's all I've got for now. Thanks again for hanging around. If you've got any comments or questions, send me a message. I'll talk to you all again soon. Take care.
