Pre-release for the (first) Dell video!
Added 2023-06-16 00:34:40 +0000 UTCSince we looked at Compaq systems last week, I figured we'd look at some of the Dells in this haul. This is another video that came down to the wire, but I'm glad to be releasing it on-time! Still not done with the thumbnail or timestamps yet, but wanted to get this out to you. Warning: May contain references to certain early 2000s commercials... Hope you enjoy!

I grew up with the likes of the Seagate ST506 Those sounds hit me right in my childhood! I was kind of obsessed with hard drives, and they were my 2nd grade science project. The teacher submitted it to some organization (not sure which) and I received a signed letter of recognition from Bill Gates! I seriously wish I still had that letter, but I went through a serious anti-MS phase (at the height of the MS vs Linux wars) and destroyed itβ¦ dumb kid stuff. A commenter on my βunusual towersβ video mentioned that case was manufactured by Foxconn, and was even used for the UMAX Mac clones! Iβd sure love to find one of thoseβ¦

2023-06-17 18:46:10 +0000 UTCYou really crack me up how much you love the sound of those old hard drives. What's funny is it's one of the things I do not miss! Also interesting is Micro used those same exact cases as the two Dells. So I guess both of them bought them from the same supplier. Now I'm wondee who exactly it was?
