April Preview: Phykon Revenants and Skjalos Defences

Afternoon everyone! I know I've been quiet the last week, I've just been taking some time away from the screen for a bit because I've not really had a proper break for a while, but I'm back now! And oh, am I back in style... if I do say so myself.

Today brings the wonderful news of both an update to the previously previewed Skjalos Defences terrain kit - now including optional rails, fabric-covered rails and armoured rails, but also a full set of ten wall side options, ladders, stairs, culverts, and both metal and slate wall topper options. Each wall locks together with a pair of cylindrical keys to match together each side, making construction easy, and the variants include plastered walls, decaying plaster and brick options. In addition, all the railings included are entirely optional, and attach easily to the wall and corner toppers, and they're thick enough to prevent warping or snapping while you're removing them from their supports.

In addition, today has another little surprise for you. In the past, a number of my infantry sets have had... interesting proportions. Many were either far too large, effortlessly towering over other humans, and plenty had cables and tentacles that, whilst printable, were an absolute nightmare to remove from their supports and actually keep in one piece when they were cured - I'm aware that some of my previous efforts left a number of things to be desired with regards to practicality. Now, with that in mind, I've decided that it's about time that the Phykon Revenants of old get the 'Kyporii treatment'!

This month will see the release of an all-new Phykon Revenants kit, which keep most of the aesthetics of its predecessor, but are proportionally correct to newer models in the Covenants of Astyri range (ie. torso scaling, upper arm lengths, etc), and are printable without a fuss. As you can see in the preview image above, all the tentacles are much thicker than before; when you receive them, the tentacles will be separated into two sections of four, which are then attached to the waist - meaning no awkward placement of supports, or painful extracting them from those supports when they're printed. In addition, this kit comes with three weapon options - rotary saws like those on the Kyporii kits but extended slightly, the original Phykon sawblades from the original kit, and, pictured here, the new up-detailed and longer-bladed chainsaws.

In addition, apologies for the delay, but February's presupports are now available to download!

Keep your eyes open over the next couple of days too, as we explore the upcoming Kaliakos head and Phykonite Interrogator!
