And the not so funny thing about the Band Aid it that Europe caused the starvation in the first place. The smog in caused the dimming effect that maid very nice long Snow winters in Sweden but caused the monsoon to not travel north from the equator. No rain no crops- starvation!

The new version of the spending bill they're trying to pass doesn't have those restrictions in it now. The crackdown on China investment could get put into a separate bill, but one which is not up for a vote and could easily be shelved. Thoughts?

Although I would add that it is actually a consequence of a bigger issue that I hate, which is General Oversimplification. We used to have 3d logos with shading and reflections, now everything is flat and boring. Microsoft's logo used to look like an actual window, now all we got is four squares. Clippy now is a freaking circle called Cortana. Cars in the 80s and 90s could look like a plane cockpit and had half of the features we now control with a single screen. Pop Music used to have complex harmonies and melodies, and yet be beautiful and interesting. Nowadays, Pop musicians and producers seem to be afraid to use more than four chords because they think anything more than that is going to blow everyones brains out. You get the idea, sorry for the long rant. But yeah this obsessive standardization starts to feel very communist...

After Harry Belafonte saw what Sir Bob Geldof had done to raise money for the Ethiopian famine, he got together with Quincy Jones to produce an American equivalent. They both suck...lol.

I like Starkbier, but only when we got a festivity in our village (only about 400 people live here). I went to Oktoberfest the last time about 20 years ago, like many that live nearby. Sexual harassment is common to many women who go there and also for the 'beer-ladys' or 'breast ladys'. Too many drunk men think: Yeah, this costume (the dirndl) of the 'beer-ladys' (in German we say simply 'Bedienung' = server) shows of lots of skin, so they want to be harassed! I think the Bedienungen on Oktoberfest have to be very firm and take no shit from anyone because: They have to work hard! But I heard that today the police and securitys are getting more strict about this harassment stuff - not like 20 years ago as people use to say: If you don't want that, than don't go to Oktoberfest. (I do lots of martial arts and one of the last times I went there - in Jeans and T-Shirt (I don't own a dirndl) - I thrown a guy over a table because he has been too intrusive). Well, but I understand that visitors from the US or Newzealand, Italy and so on like to visit the Oktoberfest. What I don't understand ... often they visit the Concentration Camp in Dachau in the morning and than (becauso of only 20 minutes with the train) the Oktoberfest in the afternoon ...
