Poll Regarding Feburary Update and Beyond
Added 2023-01-03 08:03:20 +0000 UTCHey everyone,
I just wanted to see your opinions regarding future updates and see how you'd like me to take things going forwards.
So far with each stage introduced I have worked to have each path represented fairly equally. Progressing each route in fairly small chunks. Going forward, I'd like your opinion on whether I should continue that method or instead focus on one route at a time (providing more content for that route in the process) or continue chipping away at each route in smaller increments.
Personally, I'm fine either way, but logistically, the amount of work I can giving each route equally weight does get bottlenecked by the amount of choice in the game.
Based on the results of the poll, I may release another one to see what route you would like explored more in the next update!
Just for clarifcation, this won't mean more or less content for any the routes, just how development time for each route is dedicated for each update. More routes will also be added in the future.
Of course, feel free to comment your ideas below.

In my opinion art shines best with inspiration, of course you have a passion for the whole game as can be plainly seen but I believe developing what you find most inspiration for in that moment makes the content exceed beyond. All in all, find what works best for you and keep a healthy balance of work :)

2023-01-04 15:49:35 +0000 UTCA problem with single route focus could be that they start to diverge and are less interconnected. A choice somewhere becomes really important as it defines which route you're stuck with from then on. It's innevitable eventually because it makes no sense to freely bounce between them and it's fine as long as routes continue to branch.

2023-01-04 14:14:22 +0000 UTCIn terms of which is easier, if you focus on one route at a time, you can smartly recycle and reuse assets. For example, if you model and light a house for say Rin in path a, and the player chooses path b, that set can be used for someone else like kaede. Also, if you're struggling with too many branching paths, because some stories will have identical outcomes for some characters, e.g. feedee characters following the same story, you can reuse those scenes.

2023-01-04 10:53:44 +0000 UTCI certainly would love more time in the routes I prefer however I pretty much like every single route and every bit of content in your game which is pretty uncommon to like every bit, with that I imagine it would be easier to split your time evenly just so that nothing falls behind and I think it also gives something for everyone.

2023-01-04 04:39:25 +0000 UTCPersonally prefer the first option of spreading things out, but this is one of the few games where so far I like all the routes and picking a favorite would be tough. Because of that, I don't have the same experience as I do with other games when an update comes out and I look at what's in it and am like "welp... i'll give it a chance but probably not for me." With you're game I know that even if you focus on one route I'm going to like it. I think I agree overall with NickSav, if you have a feeling about a route go for it, otherwise a bit for everyone is a good fallback.

2023-01-04 03:44:33 +0000 UTCThe biggest problem with focusing a single route is that not everyone is going to like all the routes available, so you run the risk of alienating some portion of your userbase if you aren't giving them new stuff to delve into on some sort of regular basis...

2023-01-03 16:59:03 +0000 UTCThere are definitely plenty of positives and negatives to either choice. I know for me personally the content that is in game is great and I’m looking forward to seeing more. However, some of the content in the game and things suggested as ideas won’t appeal to everyone (myself included)or be as popular as other routes. Such is the nature of your ambitious route/variations for the girls in game and I respect either choice made as it’s not easy to say which is “best”. I like the idea of a bit of content for most/all routes per update at a time as you are able to appeal to the most people possible and gives a bit of something for everyone to enjoy per update. I know for me when I think about supporting the project every month the choice is easy with that development approach. With a more focused route development I would be (more) likely to support when content/routes/girls I know I’m interested in were being worked on. At least that’s the way I’m viewing and thinking about it hypothetically. But I would like to see the approach happen that most benefits your development and won’t limit, stifle, or impair your creative freedom and process with each update. Hopefully that’s helpful, I look forward to what comes next either way and good luck with your decision.

2023-01-03 10:05:54 +0000 UTCCompletely fine with both but personally like the even route of every character getting a new stage or two per update. I feel that works pretty well since a lot of the character's gains are interconnected so having them all progress at a similar rate makes sense. Plus it makes a bit more sense narratively that all characters gain like 30lbs in an update vs most stay the same and one randomly blows up 100 lbs. Plus it gives everyone something to look forward to since everyone's favorite character will get something. That said, very much looking forward to the Kaede content as I am a big fan of BE. So at the end of the day I'm completely fine with either route; I trust your judgement on it since the game has been amazing so far. haha

2023-01-03 08:22:51 +0000 UTCwhile i can see the benefits of both ideas i think it would be better if you concentrate on one route at a time, since you can use it those alternate routes as a reference and plan how the outcome will be different in other routes
