August Burns Red, Yup

There's a band whose name I've known of for years--August Burns Red--and I think about them damn near every August.

Because yeah, this month beats people up. I saw a tweet going to bed last night that racked up numbers: "The last days of August are a test from God."

This month has been so great and such a horrible beatdown at the same time. The most important next phase of work and life things are all happening, NM is evolving into a much happier, stronger, more productive form overall with a lot of new hope I'd only dreamed of before... and it all happened during a lot of stress, strife, and some very unhappy days.

Thank you all for supporting me through it.

I have a new editor for my Twitch stream conversions, who I'll be teaching the style guide and operations for Night Mind main, which means more videos, more often, and more creators and projects given light and attention on all fronts. I'm entirely still at the helm--nothing occurs without my approval or direction, and that's the way it's always going to be. If it's NM, it's under my vision.

It means a lot to finally have a companion in this who's able to help me in the vectors I need, and your Patreon support means I can grant this paying role to someone who's brilliant, excited about the work, and deserves the opportunity at a time when it was truly helpful and needed.

Now you've helped support myself, Graphi (my beloved partner), and the first true new consistent member of the Night Mind team in my whole career. And now, we'll be able to do more work, helping more creators.

I've got a good deal of stuff to manage still right now--like the next video, which is going to be closer to two hours long than just an hour and a half--but I've got the Darkroom session and a Patreon consultation weekend in mind, as well as updates to the Index.

For the very first time, I can confidently say thank you for your patience knowing I'll get to say that less and less as my time opens up and things happen faster... and that's a really great thing.

I feel lighter.
