tl;dr - I've made good progress on preparing the Hirai stuff, so I just have to finish working on a few scenes before I can release the next update.
Hirai programming process
This week I've managed to make very good progress on getting the programming working for the basic structure of the Hirai content. I had to reshape it a couple of times but it ultimately went rather smoother than I expected. Actually, I'm not really sure whether it will seem like I've done all that much, since the whole thing is designed to integrate pretty smoothly and not take over the game, but it did require a lot of structuring work to fit together properly.
I bring that up because while I think it's a pretty decent sized content update this month, it was a big effort and I don't want anyone thinking I've been lazy about it.
I've actually made quite a bit of technical progress on a bunch of other things this month too, so while there's still the "now loading" audio memory leak issue in the background of things I do feel good about how much progress I've made in updating it and addressing bugs recently.
Hirai content
All that said, I still need to do a little more work before the content's finished for the month. So far I have already implemented:
What I am planning to put in but haven't finished yet is:
In all of those cases I've got some of the work done but it's just not finished yet, which is why I'm inclined to say they'll be in the next release.
Then coming up for the future (but not this update) with the Hirai content I plan to add:
I don't want to commit to anything really specific on that last point because I'm likely to try and come up with stuff based on how interesting it feels to me at the time, rather than tying my hands to a systematised structure too much.
I've got nothing I can think of to ask you today, so... what do you think about all that? Let me know in the comments!
