Functional Loom

[30/01/2024] Fixed issue where Sims failed placing books back and being unable to reach bookcases and fridge

[15/03/2023] Updated the preference for patch 1.96

[11/08/2022] Added inventory to the Loom

[13/05/2022] Updated for the Duck Pond

[19/03/2022] Added updated Russian translation

[19/02/2022] Updated Loom, you don't need anymore placement! Also, I separated the weavables in a few categories, for easier browsing, now you have 4 instead of 1 pie menu - Weave Clothes, Weave Cotton Fabrics, Weave Silk Fabrics and Weave Woolen Fabrics. Also it shouldn't break that often anymore or get dirty.

[15/02/2022] Updated Russian Translation by Origamika

[13/02/2022] Added second version with lower income when selling the craftables. It's 50% less in comparison to the original version, download only one version!

[06/02/2022] Fixed issue with Single Bed Blankets. Now your Sim will be able to use the bed when the blanket is on top of it. To fix the issue I had to remake the single blankets and remove the footprint, which means that if you import them on the gallery, the blankets will disappear.

[03/02/2022] I forgot that I need to update the loom object as well, now everything is fixed and you'll be able to see the historical craftables! And also added upodated russian translation by Origamika

[02/02/2022] Hi guys! I hope you’re doing well! I’m excited to share with you a historical add on for the Functional Loom.

I’ve been approached by simverses
,
who  shared with me that a lot of people who played historical gameplay  shared with them, they would like to be able to craft their content on  the Loom. So with their approval I added new craftables that are more  historically appropriate.

You can see at the bottom of the page new package file called PiedPiper_FunctionalLoom_CraftableItems(HistoricalAddOn).

This  update adds 36 more craftables, that were taken from Simverses’  conversion of Medieval Rugs and Tapestry - the original items can be  found HERE.

The  levels that unlock the items are - level 3 (Medieval Castle Rug), level  4 (Medieval Castle Wall Rug) and level 5 (Medieval Tapestry).

Originally  I had plans to implement more items, but while testing I observed that  (note I’m playing on high graphics and my computer is very good) it  takes time to open the recipes window and more time to show up the icons  of the craftables, once the Sim reaches level 10, because then they  have all 150+   (this will be such a pain if I need to update it :D)  craftables unlocked.

So I decided I’m not gonna add more craftables, because people with computer with lower graphics might wait even more.

Once again thank you Simverses
for your great content!

[07/01/2022] Minor tuning fix

[15/11/2021] Fixed an issue with items disappearing when uploaded to the gallery.

So, it was reported to me that once uploaded to the gallery most craftable items disappear. I fixed this issue, however now you'll need to use the cheat bb.moveobjects on if you want to place the craftables on different surfaces. I couldn't fix the problem only for the following 5 mats, since it was causing other issues if I try. Also, I recieved a lot of requests to make the ingredients optional, so I now they are optional.

[08/11/2021] If you experienced issue where the interaction to sell on Simzon was greyed out even after creating an account, now the issue is fixed. You can re-download the mod

Hey guys! Just a little note, when you unzip the file you will see a couple packages. I split the craftables in two - the ones that you can weave on a loom in real life, and the clothes. I know that for clothes you need sewing machine, but I heard there is already a modder working on it, yet I wanted some tailoring in my game and I thought, well our cows give us flavoured milk, why not loom giving us clothes? Anyway, if you want to play accurate, you can just delete the clothes package if you don't want it in your game.

This is the download link for the mod, make sure to read the full description HERE

I hope you like it! If you have any questions or issues, feel free to contact me!

Hi, did you install one of the ZIP files? If you installed the russian file, that contains only the translation, bot not the mod. You must install PiedPiper_FunctionalLoom.zip OR PiedPiper_FunctionalLoom_LOWERINCOME.zip make sure you unzipped them correctly and do NOT place them deeper than 1 foulder in the mods foulder. The full name of the loom is: Leah's Lovely Loom by typing 'Loom' in the search bar or search under indoor activities/hobbies/ activities (creative). I hope this is helpful, can you try this and come back if you still experience issue?

Pied Piper

I am having the same issue. I have other mods that show up but not the loom

Martha Galbraith

Hi! At the top of the page I mentioned on 19/02 that the mod was updated and you don't need placement anymore, that's why you can't find it. I guess the video was with the old version, but I managed to make the loom independent so you installed it correctly, there is no placement anymore. :)

Pied Piper

Greetings! I've seen one of my fave YTubers using your weaving mod and was dying to try it! I am, however, having some issues. At first I put the lower income one in and there was no placement base to be found anywhere in build/buy. Then I deleted all those files and put the normal one in game. Still no base. I added the Historical add-on (which is what I'm using it for) and still no base. I tried to search term 'placement' but the only thing that comes up is Icemunmuns nectar making base. I've looked through all counters and surfaces in general, activities, appliances and in searching a myriad of variations of 'Leah's Lovely Loom placement base'. When putting in my mods folder they are stand alones and not in an additional folder and I have been extracting them directly to my mods folder. I'm not sure what else to do. Do you have any advice on what I'm doing wrong or what I could be doing instead? Thanks so much for your time!!!

Shotgun Betty

I have a lot of the other mods. For example, the duck pond, grinder, craft table, etc. all show up, except the functional loom. I've looked everywhere for it and even searched by name, but it's nowhere that I can find. Is anyone having this issue or is it somewhere that I keep missing?

The-Lady-Writes-What

This is such a fun mod and adds so much specialized gameplay. I was seeing your note about wanting to not do too many additional objects for low end users which is so considerate. I was wondering if you would be able to add more items as optional add ons like the historical items and the clothes. Then people can perhaps choose categories to add to their own game. Personally I would love and be able to do tons more items but I wouldn’t add in the historical for most gameplay as I usually don’t play in that style. Anyway, just a thought based on my limited knowledge but high interest! Thanks for your hard work!

Ashley

Uooooh This is aaawwweeesome! Thank you for sharing!

Steffi Jänsch

I wanted to add this option, but so far I couldn't make it work without errors. I use the tuning from the coffee maker and in there the Sim grabs the coffee, they don't place it strainght into their inventory, that's why is like this. But I keep this in mind, in case I find a workaround.

Pied Piper

the sims are rather annoying placing your crafted items anywhere even in unreachable areas (once it was under the tile of a circular deck so I had to delete the entire floor to access it). It would be nice if they went straight into the sim inventory

Bessy

Ok...ok... so I loaded both versions (lower cost. etc.)... never mind.... heehee

Barbara Moore

The base disappeared?! (From a house it was in) So consequently the loom couldn't be placed either. tried redownloading the house because the base wasn't in the BB... of course that didn't work either... Maybe it was something else, but it worked fine last night before I did today's Patreon updates... I'll have her do the distilling while we wait for a fix LOL - I seriously love your mods. Thank you.

Barbara Moore

I'm glad to hear that!

Pied Piper

I have only tried 1 single blanket... so far, it works like a charm. Thank you so very much.

Puking king

Hi! Do you have all packages installed? I just checked in my game and it's visible on my side, also you can create account without skill required, you need skill 6 only to be able to see the selling option on the item, so the skill shouldn't be an issue. I was wandering do you use CC computer? I know that the interaction doesn't show on some computers that came with packs (for example University pack computers) and if the CC cloned from this computers there might be no interaction visible. Try with base game computer and tell me if you still have this issue?

Pied Piper

This is such a great activity! I am wondering about Simzon - I don't see it showing up under Order to create an account. I am at weaving level 7. Can you help me? Thank you!

Jessica Pellowe

This is awesome! TY for adding. You can add any conversions of mine :)

ingeli

Thank you, I'm glad you like it! However, I don't have Pottery mod.

Pied Piper

I've been looking into this ever since you reported it to me, and probably soon there will be a new update about it as well! But I'm still looking for a work around, because I'll need to re-do manually all single bed craftables.

Pied Piper

The historical add on is lovely and I hope we continue to get more and more historical recolors or themes from across periods and cultures, there is so much potential with this and your pottery mod especially - ah, really looking forward to creating even more now! And I hope more of us historical minded creators continue to collaborate!

Dovelette

This is great! I also hope that your single bedsheets can be fixed so that Sims can use them on their beds while sleeping.
