Full-Album Reaction Poll: July 2025

This month's poll includes seven albums because we can't forget Anchors Aweigh from The Bouncing Souls—our second place winner from May's poll!

Duck and Cover from Mad Caddies is also back after landing in second place in June's Summer of Ska poll. Be careful who you vote for—your votes last month made me buy another dadgum bass 😅

This poll will be open through Sunday, June 22nd, and the winning album's episode will be posted on Tuesday, July 1st!

*Please remember that I'm only considering albums that contain songs I've already covered on YouTube. Requests have now closed for this month, but will reopen on July 10th, 2025.

Idk if anyone’s mentioned it already but worth noting that Let’s talk about feelings is the first album to feature Christ Rest on (lead guitarist from Rich Kids on LSD) on lead guitar, and you can definitely hear his compositional contributions if you’re familiar with Rock n roll nightmare

Rev is a great record. I saw Ten Foot Pole for the first time in the summer of 1996 opening for NUFAN in their Leche tour. I love the slightly distorted guitar tones . I had the Rev record and liked it but hearing those guitars absolutely blaring live was so enjoyable. Unfortunately, Scott was already out of the band then and no offense to the guitar player that replaced him singing but he's just not the same. I too never was big on pulley. Their first record is OK but nothing special to me.

Next time I can request a song it will be from Ten Foot Pole - Rev (the peak of Scott Radinsky's (musical) career, I love Pulley but he doesn't have as tight a band to back him up there), it's sad they kicked him out because he was going to be a full time pitcher (he was a relief pitcher in the MLB when Swill was made, but he became pretty damn good with the LA Dodgers and elsewhere as he became a starting pitcher). Ten Foot Pole's first incarnation was a pretty unique beautiful yet angry sounding band, Rev being what I think might have been Satanic Surfers' favorite album when they did Keep Out! (musically) and Hero Of Our Time are both similar, but their best 2 albums (SS) are definitely 666 Motor Inn and Going Nowhere Fast, the lineup there is very technical, a hidden gem from Sweden. I only mentioned them because the first incarnation of Ten Foot Pole with Scott on vocals had one of their best songs on a Ten Foot Pole/Satanic Surfers split EP, I have it on CD since a long time and it's near mint condition. I saw Satanic Surfers mentioned in a poll earlier and it was 666 Motor Inn and I was like, ok, this dude knows what's up and subscribed. I think somebody told me where to offer some thoughts on what to listen to, like one song first, before going for the album. Haven't seen TFP mentioned at all, I like the first few albums with Dennis taking on the vocals, but he's not a Chris Hannah type, him abandoning his focus on the music only which gave TFP 2 very talented guitarists and a bassist and drummer (RIP to the bassist too, he was around for a long time until the band went from Epitaph to Victory Records), that's why I consider the album that should be focused on is Rev, as the 1991-1995 incarnation of the band was the best, and I saw them live in 95 with Scott too, with Propagandhi, that was crazy, a school had an afterschool activity before Christmas holidays and it was going to that show, they were a bit younger than me, grade 9 kids, in a small little town of just 20k people in northern Quebec, Alma that is, the place was packed (up to 800 places) back in late 1994. One of my first shows where that was so many people. But I voted a Good Riddance song first, and not from the album in this list, honestly that's the album one gets bored with when they get to hear all of GR's albums, it's a classic for sure, I like a lot of the songs written by Luke (they have 2 songwriters, although Russ (vocals) writes 3/4 of the songs per album, Luke's songs are often my favorites, not always, but hear the B-sides that are from the Moderne Rebellion recordings session on their Rarities and compilation songs album "Capricorn One", I spin that one as often as a regular record. It's kinda sad Luke stopped writing music entirely on their last LP and EP in 2019 and 2020. I'd like a new band that wasn't given a full record review yet, so I stick with Ixnay, come on people!
