Happy November, ya turkeys! Normally we’d have some on-going bit about our office being under attack by something, but right now Ashley & Dave are enduring something far more sinister & stress-inducing than any fictional disaster: MOVING. That’s right, we’re currently packing up our entire house in preparation to sell it and hit the road to the real life Veilport, Seattle Washington! As a result, production over the next couple of months is going to be a bit on-and-off, but we still have a few things to update your face-holes on below. Let’s get to gobbling!
Even with all the various Halloween content we put out, our main focus is still the production of the pilot. We’re actually aiming to put out another finished teaser clip from the episode early next year! You can take a look at the fully-boarded out animatic of the scene above. As you can see, this part is going to be much more action and thriller-oriented, so the public will finally get a nice taste of the tone we’re going for AND get some werewolf content to tide over you freaks. This clip will also provide some new interesting challenges for us and our crew with complex fx and camera movements. As we go forward we will be providing breakdowns of how we accomplish these shots as their own individual posts to give you a more in depth look at our animation production. We decided that since the pilot isn’t going to be done by the end of 2022, we wanted to give everyone SOMETHING to hold everyone over going into the new year & a clip like this will hopefully help ease the sickness of waiting.
Dave & our comics team have also been working really hard on putting out a bunch of new comics, including a special one just in time for Thanksgiving. We hired a new writer & sketch artist named Cizdude, whose hilarious drawings we’ve shared on our Twitter multiple times, to help us out with brainstorming. It’s been a lot of fun coming up with ideas that are both wholesome character moments & bat-shit crazy scenarios. As a result, we have several new comics currently being worked on by different artists that you can expect to read very soon!
Our music department has also been quite busy. We’re cooking up a demo for an all new original song as we speak! The working title is “Monster In The Closet” and we’re aiming for a much spookier horror movie vibe with this one. While Adventricular was focused on the band as a whole, Monster focuses more heavily on Quinn and his history with a certain bratty bat boy. Structure wise we’re going for some rock opera theatrics. We’re looking forward to working on a more narratively driven structure for a song. While we’re not ready to share a demo yet, we’ll be sure to update you as the track evolves. Also we know how much you guys enjoyed the “It’s Terror Time Again” cover, so you can absolutely bet we’ll be doing more covers going forward, which is something that we may take suggestions / do voting polls from you guys to help decide on in the future. If you have any suggestions, feel free to drop them in the comments!
As always, our monthly Q&A will be taking place for all $5 & up Patrons on Saturday, November 19th at 5:00 PM PST! Due to the very unpredictable schedule of moving though, this date might not be 100% definite. Keep an eye out on here and the Discord channel if the date or time for the Q&A changes. Well, that’s all for this month! Hope you all enjoy sitting around the table with in-laws who ask inappropriate questions and dishes that are undercooked! If not, just remember that you’re always a part of our weird little family, freaks.
