New Characters and Con Appearance (June 2022 Update)

Summer is officially upon us! Bet you all wish the Papa Swirl truck was real so you could get a big cone right now. With the massive heat melting our souls, things have been pretty much the same as last month over here at Far-Fetched HQ with the exception of a couple new exciting things. I know none of you read this, so just look at the pretty pictures, you freaks!

First off, we’ve officially begun animation again on the new more dynamic boards that Salem whipped up! We’re starting off with that Quinn sequence that we showed the boards for on Twitter the other day. That whole scene is going to be done in one shot in front of the camcorder, which we thought would be a way more interesting direction choice. Watching Quinn brag to the camera while Warren & Rue work in the background just feels right at that angle.

Next, we wanted to give you guys a look at some designs for two of our side characters: Quinn’s grandmother Clodagh & Piper’s girlfriend [INSERT HUMAN NAME HERE]. Neither of them will appear in the pilot, but we wanted them to pop up in the Adventricular lyric video & then in the early series proper! Clodagh is a heavy metal gereatric who, despite being a bit off her rocker, just adores her grandson Quinny. Piper’s girlfriend is the definition of eccentrically stoic, who goes along with Piper’s antics no matter how ridiculous. These designs are still work in progress, but definitely on the path to completion!

We’ve also continued to work on the finishing touches and lyric video for the first Sesamoid song we’re going to be releasing! Our mix-master Brett just gave us another pass of the song blend that is SUPER close to final, so it’ll definitely be done by the end of the month. We also have our awesome designers Max & Kros working on all the drawings for the lyric video to coincide with the song, which will play out like a mini-adventure for the Sesamoid gang! Our goal is to premiere the whole shebang at our Anime Matsuri panel this summer & put it up on our YouTube channel right after.

Our monthly Q&A on Discord for all $5 and up patrons will happen a little later in the month, since Dave is going to New York this weekend. It will go do on Saturday the 25th at 5:00 PM PST.
