Summer Is Upon Us (May 2022 Update)

Oh god, THE SUN… ITS POWER WILL MELT US ALL! We’re in mid-May, which means summer has basically struck with all its blistering fury. Unfortunately instead of burning them alive, Ashley & Dave have both been hit with COVID which has made this update come out a little later than usual. At the time of posting this, we’re both on the path to recovery and should hopefully be all good in a few days!

Because of our afflictions, there hasn’t been TOO much going on this month over at Far-Fetched HQ. We’ve welcomed a new board artist onto the team, named Salem! As we’ve been moving forward, we’ve learned a lot and found many ways we can improve upon our initial storyboards and pacing. We’ve brought Salem on board to help us revise some old storyboards as a result.

A huge part of making the show so far has been learning as we go, which sometimes leads us to revise old work. Even if it feels like a step backwards, every step is a step forward towards a better, more fun pilot. We've decided to go back and rework some parts to include better character acting, staging, pacing, and more fun dynamic shots. We promise it’s not a lot of shots; we’re not changing THE WHOLE THING at this point. It’s mainly just a few parts before and after the teaser we released, which will remain mostly the same!

We’re also continuing to work on putting together the finishing touches on the full Sesamoid song, Adventricular Fibrillation, that we spoke about last update. The title of the song is something we’re also debating about changing, so it MIGHT be temporary for now. We’re VERY CLOSE to the final version of the mix of the song and we’ve slowly begun work on the actual lyric video, trying to write it as a “mini-adventure” for the gang. Once we’re heavy into production on that, we’ll share more of the drawings we have planned for that video!

You can also expect comics to start up again this week! We went and had a big meeting this month and planned out a whole bunch of ideas for them that we’re going to be aiming to release every other week. You saw the teaser for the “bathtime” one a few days ago, which we thought would be a really fun quick one to get back on track for them! Kira and Griff just needed a good cleaning.

We’re planning on having our monthly Q&A on Discord for all $5 and up patrons this Saturday the 21st at 5:00 PM PST. You can submit your questions as always on the server, just keep them to no more than two for time. Both Ashley & Dave should be all cleared up from the plague by then, but we’ll 100% let you guys know ahead of time if anything changes for that and if we would need to reschedule. Apologies that things have been a little slow on our end and these updates have been a bit sparse, we’re just in the middle of production where there isn’t too much to talk about along with sickness and other life things.
