This one took a bit of experimentation and re-working but I got there in the end! I went into this one with the concept of a roller coaster flying off the tracks, either up into the air or down at the ground. I had a hunch that down at the ground would be easier to execute, so I went with that first (and final).

A fair bit of time at the start was me building coasters in the game, using my screen as a frame to try and find a composition I found would make for a good thumbnail. And funny enough I didn't end up using almost any of it. Ultimately I found simplicity worked best. The simple visual of the car and track, the speed of the car represented with layers with varying levels of transparency and blur, and iconic green grass from the game. I also like that the edges of the grass is squared off at the top. It emulates the game's grid-based nature (with the game's iconic terrain color), while also disrupting the horizon which I think makes it more interesting.
