SPEEDRUN EXPLAINED Retrospective: Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion No Out-of-Bounds

Comments

Hey, another game I didnt play and dont know well, but this being "no out of bounds" made it easier to follow. I liked the meta comments you did, like the huge invasion being three enemies each wave. I think these elder scrolls games suffer a lot from failing at scale (like an important "city" having only 12 building and such). So I'm on board with jokes about that. Again, as I commented before, I'd love an introduction to the run and this again doesnt have one. In one of the Fallout NV runs you opened with a like like "you might be waiting for a speed cripple here, but we dont do it because we use another trick and they dont work together" and in the Doom video you said something like "with this jump trick they will skip most of the levels" or something. For this run you could have had a line like "He will be using a trick to support himself with unlimited supply of a speed buff potion and another to nearly double its effect. In addition to that there will be massive use of save warping." I would like that. Maybe you see it as a spoiler? The thing about the enemies activating each other in nearby rooms... I dont get why its so important to explain every deatil of such a complicated detail. Why not just say "The enemies in these rooms can activate each other in unforseen ways, so carefull planning was needed to reduce the risk of losing the run here"? Then just say he does this and that and is fine. Bam. Unless you want to play the run yourself its all you need to know isnt it? And yes, all the ingame names were fun :)
