Speedrun Explained 60 (Update 5)

Hey all! Bit of a shorter update this month, but I come bearing good news.

SPEEDRUN EXPLAINED #60

This is the video covering an Any% speedrun of Cuphead, and boy has it been quite an undertaking. The video is currently sitting at 1:08:43 in length, and that's without the ad read and outro. With the outro it'll be right around 70-71 minutes long, and with the ad read the final length will be about 73 minutes long or so. The video is crazy dense, and has been a real challenge to work on. BUT, I am making great progress on it! The entirety of the commentary and editing during the run itself is completed, and I've been spending the past week solely editing the pause sections, which make up about half of the video (I promise these sections' lengths are warranted and only included when necessary). This run is just really compact with how much goes on so quickly. On top of the amount of info in the video, I've also been really trying to step up my game in terms of editing. While I don't expect people to watch this video and say "oh wow, tomato really did something wild/special with the editing in this one", I do hope that the editing that I've been doing enhances the viewing experience while not distracting the viewer from the information being presented. I think that the video (especially the first 16 and a half minutes or so) really succeed in this department. Some of the edits (and a couple visuals I've put together) seem really minor, but they were a lot of work on the back end to get right. Again, they're not anything that I'm expecting people to consciously notice a difference in. Just something to make the video as a whole feel more polished and engaging. As of this moment, I'm about halfway through editing the longest remaining pause section out of the four that I have left. I'm currently expecting to wrap up this draft sometime this week and send it off to the runner for review. Hopefully that means that the video will be finalized and uploaded on Patreon by July 25th at the latest! I'm hoping for this exact date as the latest posting date here since I'm going to be out-of-town from that afternoon through Sunday, and I'd really like to make sure you all have a good handful of days to get an advanced viewing in before the video goes live on YouTube by the end of the month.

ALL OTHER PROJECTS

The Cuphead video is pretty much the only thing I've been working on for this past month (aside from now streaming every Monday and Thursday and launching my VoD channel, come check them out 😎). The video has had my full attention so I can get it out before the end of this month, so I don't have any updates on any other projects since no work has really gone into them. I cannot wait for you all to see this Cuphead video, but until then, I hope you all are doing well!
