SPEEDRUN EXPLAINED 14: Production Update 1
Added 2019-10-15 02:02:43 +0000 UTCTL;DR at the bottom.
The 14th speedrun explained video (insane that we've done so many at this point) is well underway, with a tentative public release date of November 2nd. The run being discussed in the video will be a No Out-of-Bounds speedrun of TES IV: Oblivion.
The first draft of the script is finished and is undergoing reviews with the runner who I'm working with on this video. Overall though it's going smoothly, and should have no problem with being released (publicly) on November 2nd.
When time comes to record commentary for this video though, I'm going to take a little bit of a different approach than I have with the past few videos. When I began working with other runners, I switched up my process to write, record, edit. In the past my process was much more jumbled, with the three acts all taking place at the same time.
Obviously I can't write and record/edit at the same time when working with another person, as they have to okay the script, but I'm going to go back to recording and editing at the same time again, which will hopefully improve the pacing and delivery of information in the video, as I'm able to make adjustments on the fly rather than in post.
I've felt that while the runs and the commentary have been great the past few videos, something has been missing in terms of pacing and hopefully this will right the course of the ship.
I feel good about this video.
TL;DR: Run is Oblivion No Out-of-Bounds. Scripting is done, but reviewing script with runner. Changing recording process back to old method that makes me optimistic for this video.
