From swaggering young samurai to venerable sages, the Mother welcomes guests with hospitable bows and precise formal greetings. To many the Mother is a divine hostess of a slice of heaven on this mortal realm. To those in the know, she is all that and more. Her web of influence spreads across the realm, for the right people, she can access any goods, services or secrets. Who those people are though, remains a mystery until they make their request. It is not unheard of for ‘important’ members of the town to be seen slinking away dejected after arriving with much gusto.
