The sounds of hammers and saws break the dawn silence of the artisan district, a background rhythm which somehow adds to the serenity. Weavers, tailors, boatwrights and printers ply their trades. Master artists producing the finest wares while passing on their skills to the next generation of apprentices. The honest work ethic here is a plane removed from the morality of the merchants who hock the goods amidst the pandemonium and clamour of the markets a mere ward away.
