The peaceful, refined tea ceremony and the raucous market tea monger share a common origin. Row upon row of meticulously maintained shrubs feed the Empire's insatiable appetite for tea. Delicately harvested, by calloused hands, the leaves are sorted under Grandfather's wizened glare. After the leaves are dried and packed, the peace of the farm is broken when the merchants arrive and the haggling begins. Negotiated over cups of the finest matcha, the deals are sealed with a bow and a hanko mark.
