Announcement - Future Plans

Hey there, everybody!

I'm just gonna make this post now before I forget. I want to talk about some things that are a little too long for an author's note.

First of all, it's been a great year. Since I started writing, I'm feeling a lot better, mentally. I'm still working on that physical fitness but it's a little slow. What can I do, I'm lazy. Starting this novel was the best thing I did in a long time. I love every comment and discussion, every little bit of feedback and all the support you give me. Thank you!

That said, looking forward I'm seeing financial troubles on the horizon. No matter how much I appreciate your support, it's not enough to live off. My saving will last me until sometime late summer, most likely. If I'm careful, I'll be fine until around September. That means now is a decent time to start thinking about solutions. My personal favourite option is getting to a number of patrons that can support me long term. That's about 400€ to 500€ per month as long as my parents still support me financially, which is as long as I stay a student. There's probably a limit there as well. If I don't make any progress in uni, they might pull the money and tell me to get a job.

Considering my studies, it's going somewhat slow, which I expected. I have exams coming up in February and March but I don't know the exact dates yet. I'll update you on any possible breaks when I know more.

Back to the money problem. Short-term, I plan to do some engagement stuff. There'll be a Discord Q&A and advertisement on Reddit and other Discord servers. There is another thing. I started writing my second story. The first chapter is at about 3k words. I'm aiming for 4k-6k. I will start posting it on Patreon sometime next month. The first two or three chapters will be available for every tier. It's a sort of sneak peek to get some initial feedback. Once I'm at the point of having 20k words, I'll make a separate 5€ tier for it and add it to the 10€ tier. The new project will be much more refined but also without a schedule. I plan on about one chapter per week, released when it's ready.

The new story is a reluctant villain story in a system apocalypse. Though the apocalypse isn't really as explosive as the likes of Randidly or Primal Hunter. I had the idea when I ran out of chapters to read on RavensDagger's Fluff. It also takes inspiration from Worm. I really like that kind of superheros and villains setting. I'll put up a synopsis and talk some more about it when the first chapter drops.

For Owlnother World, it will continue at four chapters per week. I'm not putting a lot of editing work into it so I can get a chapter out quickly. It's also kind of nice to have different things to work on. I'm not someone that can focus on one thing only for hours on end. 2 hours is my limit for continuous writing. That's enough to get a chapter of owl done, if I have an idea where it's going.

About that, I want to apologize for the recent chapters. I feel like they were subpar in quality. I planned out volume five with far less detail than the ones before and as a result, the story is a little messy. I don't think the plot itself is bad, I just didn't get the execution right. It's something for that eventual edit/rewrite. Which isn't happening before April. I have a better idea for the next few chapters and I'm making some broad plans for the next volume. It's gonna be another two weeks or so to get there so I have some time still.

Now, I said Owlnother World will continue with four chapters per week. That is only on Patreon until I get to 20 advance chapters. This is another incentive for readers to pay and hopefully relieve me from my financial worries. I am reducing RR to three chapters per week for the time being. I found I lack motivation to write 2k words for this story more than four days a week. I have some days where I only manage half a chapter. The schedule change I attempted earlier this month was not successful. I will still take planned break days since those helped a lot with keeping my motivation up.

That's about it, for now.

tl;dr: Owlnother World gets four chapters per week on Patreon, three on RR until it's at 20 ahead. New story starts sometime next month. First chapters are available for every Patreon tier, then it will get its own 5€ tier and will be added to 10€. If this doesn't work out, I'll have to start looking for a part-time job by summer. Also, Discord Q&A sometime next month. Gonna make a separate announcement.
