Doomsday preppers 6
Added 2024-08-27 23:59:13 +0000 UTCA/N The chapter is a bit on the short side due it being Ayumu centric. It's all about the first member of the Doomsday club.
Ayumu sighed, back against the door to the classroom he was hiding in. The past half hour had been hell for him. Not only did he watch his classmates get torn apart by the undead only to come back as one of said undead but some of the teachers straight up killed themselves.
And honestly he didn't blame them, everything seemed like a fucked up nightmare that he would ne more than happy to wake up from.
But sadly this was reality…
He needed to get to the faculty room, use one of the landlines and call his mom. Better yet, he needed to contact Akira to see if he was okay and then he'd get out of school and go home to his mom.
That was as good a plan as any!
Grabbing a chair, Ayumu opened the door and slowly walked into the hall. A few zombies seemed to be shuffling mindlessly about in the hallway. With a mental countdown, Ayume hurled the chair at the far end of the hall and took a step back into the class. Leaving the door wide open.
The chair made a loud noise as it hit the floor and clattered loudly as it slid on the floor.
A second later hordes of zombies ran towards the end of the hall. Passing by the open class Ayumu was hiding without even a single glance. Their feet stomped loudly as they passed. Ayumu waited patiently until they stopped running past him. The green haired boy quickly ran out the door and into the opposite direction of the zombies. Even while Sprinting, Ayume made sure his feet didn't make as much noise when they hit the ground.
So far, rather than fight the zombies, Ayumu waited and maneuvered around them. He would duck into empty classrooms and wait for the zombies to pass by or once they've calmed down enough for him to walk around them. It was slow and time consuming but it was working. A technique he once used against Rei in Shogi! Though he lost the game he almost beat her simply because she'd gotten annoyed with how slow he was making the game.
Soon enough Ayumu came across a hallway with piles and piles of dead bodies. Zombie corpses to be exact. Something had come through here and done this. While that was a good thing for him since his path to the faculty room was cleared, he just hoped it wasn't one of those super strong special zombies Akira had grumbled about.
With his guard up, Ayumu quickly made his way through the deathly silent halls and straight for the faculty room.
A minute later Ayumu was staring at the door. Every member of the Doomsday preppers club worth their salt knew never to open a door so suddenly. He gently grabbed the door handle and gently pressed it down. With how shitty today was, it was most likely that the teachers inside were zombies just waiting for someone to-
-Huh, it's locked.
Ayumu tried again before he paused. The one thing he needed was in there. And the only way to get inside was to break down the door. But then every Zombie that was nearby would come racing his way, not to mention the ones inside.
Damn it, what would Akira do-
The door suddenly opened and Ayumu quickly jumped back ready to turn and run only to pause at the figure staring back at him.
“Akira?” He blinked as the other boy stepped forward, grabbed him by the shirt and pulled him in.
“Get in already,”
Ayumu found himself stumbling into the faculty room. Eyes widening at the sight of everyone from the Doomsday preppers club along with two new people.
“Were you bit? Scratched? Blood of a Zombie enter through your eye?” Akira asked as he roughly grabbed Ayumu and searched him for injuries.
“I'm fine, I'm fine.” Ayumu held up his hands as Akira frisked him. A few seconds later the older boy stepped back.
“Take a seat and get some rest,” Akira said as he patted Ayumu on the shoulder.
“I'll do that but I need a phone to call my mom-” Ayumu began but was cut off.
“You mom's fine, I gave her instructions on what to do. Now sit down.” Akira said before he pulled out a phone and handed it to Ayumu. “You can text her letter, right now I have an important announcement.”
Ayumu pulled up a chair and took a seat. The moment he sat down, it felt like a huge weight had been lifted off his shoulders. His mother was safe, his friends were safe and he was safe. Now a treacherous part of his mind couldn't help but wonder if maybe Akira didn't call his mother and only said that to calm him down?
Nah, Akira may have been the bane of Ayumu's existence and the reason he didn't have that many friends. But Akira was the one that saved him. It was thanks to him that Ayumu and his mother were safe.
From now on, whatever Akira said was prophecy in the mind of Ayumu.
“Listen up everyone, we're all gonna die.”
Damn it Akira!
“Unless we work together and you listen to me,” Akira continued as everyone's eyes turned to him. “Right now the world as we know it is gone, society out there is in shambles! People aren't gonna care about whether you're an honor student, you're a genius, if you have money or even if you're a girl. It's chaos out there and the only people we can trust to survive are in this room.”
It's not like Akira was yelling or anything, his voice was firm and even. But the words he spoke, Ayumu could see everyone was shaken up.
“Now I want you to look at everyone in this room,” Akira said as the group looked at each other in confusion. “The people you see, I want you to do everything in your power to save them, and in turn they will do everything they can to save you. Now gather around, Shizuka pass me a marker. Hisashi and Takashi bring that table.”
Soon a table was brought to the center and everyone gathered around it.
“Here's our road map to surviving the day,” Akira said as he drew four rectangles on the table all spaced apart. “We're here,” he pointed to the first rectangle. “The second step is to get the keys to one of the school buses and make our way here, Rika's house.”
“Wait, what was the first step?” Ms Kyoko asked with a frown.
“Obviously it was getting to the faculty room, I thought teachers were supposed to be-
“-Thank you Saya,” Akira said, interrupting the mean pink haired girl before she could go any further. “Yes, I had you all meet here because it would be easier than going from classroom to classroom looking for you. Which if I'm being honest was the plan. Once you get the keys to the bus, Shizuka will drive you to Rika's place where we'll take a rest and gather some supplies.”
“You want me to drive?” Nurse Shizuka asked nervously. “I don't know if I-
“You can,” Akira firmly said. “I trust you with this Shizuka.”
“...Akira trusts me,” The woman seemed to blush before she shook her head and a determined look filled her eyes. “I won't let you down!”
“I know you won't,” Akira said as he smiled at her. He then turned back to the table. “Now getting to Rika's is easier said than done, it's a bit far from here and you might find traffic on your way there but Shizuka knows a few shortcuts so you should be fine. Right now the city is filled with people fleeing so there'll definitely be traffic on the main roads. Once you get there-
“Wait, hold on Akira.” Yuuki Miku raised her hand. “You're talking like you're not coming with us.”
“That's because I'm not,” Akira said as everyone gasped. Akira though seemed to turn his gaze to Ayumu. “Ayumu and I are going to get his mother and we'll meet you there. That's all for now, we leave in five minutes.”
“What about here and here?!” Saya angrily pointed at the two empty rectangles.
“We'll focus on getting to Rika's first, those are for later. Honestly I just kinda put them there because of muscle memory.” Akira said before he looked at Takashi. “With Shizuka and Kyoko taking shifts driving it'll be up to you to be team leader. Make sure no one does anything stupid that might get them all killed.”
“Why does Takashi get to lead!?” Saya huffed. “Shouldn't I lead cause I'm the smartest.”
“If you lead, then who's going to take the time to point out mistakes? You're too valuable to be a team leader.” Akira said as Saya smiled and puffed up her chest in pride. Her massive breasts jiggling at the action.
“I guess that bum Takashi can lead,”
“Thanks I guess…” Said bum muttered.
“What's at Rika's place anyway?” Rei asked.
“Food, water and a safe full of guns.”
“GUNS?!” The chubby boy who had been quiet this entire time suddenly made his presence known. “Did you say guns? How many? What Caliber-
“Calm down Kohta, you'll see for yourself once you get there.” Akira said as the boy now seemed to have a massive blush on his spectacled face.
“Just how do you know all this Akira,” Ms Kyoko seemed to be glaring at Akira. “This all seems pre planned.”
“Kyoko, maybe just let Akira finish his plan-
“No Shizuka, something isn't right! This is too elaborate to have been made on the fly! He knew this was going to happen! I know Akira, the whole damn faculty knew about him because of two things, the fact that he had always been at the top of his class since his first year and his obsession with Zombies! Don't get me started on your relationship with him Shizuka!” The red haired woman had a wild look eyes as she pointed an accusatory finger at Akira.
“I knew this was going to happen,” Akira said as everyone turned to him. This…this wasn't as big a reveal as it should be. Too much has happened already today.
“Sorry to burst your bubble but we all knew he knew,” Yuuki huffed. “Right now is not the time to start interrogating him. I don't know if you noticed but we're trapped in here. None of us apart from him knows what's waiting for us out there. For all we know zombies could come burge in at any moment. So if you have a dumb question that is not related to the bus and Rika's place I suggest you swallow it down. There's more to Akira's answer and we simply don't have the time.”
Saya's mouth opened for a moment before it closed and she turned away with a huff.
Ms Kyoko wanted to say more but Ms Shizuka put a hand on her shoulder and shook her head.
“Hisashi, Rei and Saeko will be your fighting force,” Akira continued as if nothing happened. Shizuka, do you have the keys to Rika's apartment?”
“Yes,” The blonde woman nodded. “I keep them attached to my car keys.”
“Good, separate them and give me your car keys. Ayume and I will use your car to get to his place.” Akira explained. “Once Shizuka does that, we're off. So gather your weapons. Takashi, let's talk over there.”
As Akira and Takashi walked away from the table, Ayumu pulled out the phone he was given and went to text his mom. As he typed in his mother's number her name popped up just after the first three numbers.
Nana Kadowaki.
He tapped on her name and searched through the last few texts sent to her.
Akira: You free to talk?
Nana: For you I'm always free 😍
Mom what the fuck was that reply?!
Akira: I'll call you.
There was a big time jump before Akira texted again.
Akira: Are you OK
Nana: I'm fine but I'm scared. I can here screams coming from outside the house. It's chaos put there! Have you found my Ayumu yet?
It brought tears in his eyes at the fact that his mother was worried about him.
Akira: I don't know. But I know his okay, your son might not look it but his is a survivor.
Ayumu almost wanted to cry out loud at the faith his friend had in him.
Nana: please bring him back to me safe.
Akira: Don't worry, once I find him we'll come for you. Text me every five minutes and whenever something happens.
Nana: okay, I will 🥰
Damn it mom!
Sighing to himself, Ayumu sent her text.
Are you okay mom?
Nana: Calling me mommy? How forward of you Akira ufufufu. I'm still hiding like you told me but the noise outside is getting louder. Did you find Ayumu yet?
Ayumu smiled in relief, happy she was fine and happy she asked about him.
His safe, and he told me to tell you he loves you.
Nana: Tell him I love him too.
He'll be glad to hear that.
Nana: don't worry Akira, Mommy loves you too!
Okay it was officially time to put the phone down.
Putting the phone away, Ayumu looked up just in time to see Akira give Shizuka a hug and Rei a kiss.
“Alright, it's time to move out!”
With Akira and Saeko at the head of the group, they all quietly stepped out of the room. Thanks to…whatever had cleared out the hallway they managed to move without seeing a lot of zombies.
That is until they reached the stairs that led to the entrance hall and came across five students trying to fight off a horde of Zombies and losing badly.
“What do we-
“It's too late for them,” Akira said rather coldly. “They've been bitten, let's see if we can move around them-
A boy from the group tried running to the door only to get tackled by a Zombie, it bit into his neck and he screamed bloody murder. Attracting even more zombies.
Shit.
Akira quickly turned around, his eyes going to Ms Shizuka. He quickly rushed over to the nurse and got down on one knee in front of her. Now Ayumu had always suspected there was something going on between two but-
To think Akira would propose to her in the middle of an apocalypse!
Then again, this was Akira…
“R-right here?” Nurse Shizuka was blushing as everyone turned to look at them.
“I-
Was Akira really going to propose?
“-apologize for this,”
Without warning Akira grabbed the bottom of the long black skirt she was wearing, turning it into a mini skirt. The skirt that reached her ankles was now barely touching her knees.
Shizuka's eyes widened in pure horror and was she about to scream before she covered her mouth with both hands.
“I'm sorry, I know you really liked that skirt.” Akira said in a hushed whisper as he stood up. “We're gonna make a run for it, as fast as we can. Normally we'd wait but we simply don't have the time. You guys run to the bus while Ayumu and I go to Shizuka's car. Any questions? No? Good. Let's go.”
Akira with his bokken in hand quickly broke into a run with the rest of the group following with a silent charge.
Akira and Saeko made it to the entrance hall first, wooden swords crushing the poor zombie's skulls. The two were practically in sync, two monsters cutting down zombies like they didn't have blunt wooden blades! It all made since now they must have been the ones to kill those from before!
Though Akira and Saeko were obviously taking the brunt force of the zombies, the rest of the group were all doing their part.
Rei was keeping any zombie that attacked from getting closer thanks to her makeshift spear, Takashi would hit them as hard as he could with his weapon, sending them flying into other zombies, Hisashi stabbed any that got close him with his blades and Ms Shizuka was dragging along a terrified Ms Kyoko as they run.
Ayumu himself would kick any that got close to the group. Thanks to all that parkour, his legs were made steel and he was going to use them like the weapons they are!
They made it to the doors with the two third years letting them pass while the rest of the group ran to the bus.
“Saeko get on the bus and go!” Akira instructed as Saeko pulled back and ran to the bus while he joined Ayumu. The two quickly went to where a small yellow two door beetle was parked.
“You gotta be kidding, we're going in that?!” Ayumu exclaimed as Akira somehow decapitated a Zombie that had gotten close.
“She may be small but she's fast,” Akira said as he pushed a button on the small remote attached to the keys and the car unlocked.
Two boys got in with Akira in the driver's seat and Ayumu in the passenger's seat.
“Seat belt-
The roar of the bus coming to life drew their attention for a moment, it seemed the others had also made it to their vehicle.
Ayumu quickly followed the order and put his seat belt on as Akira started the car.
“We'll wait for Shizuka to drive through the gate and then we'll head for Nana.” Akira said, his hands on the steering wheel as they waited for the bus.
“Sounds like a plan,” Ayumu nodded. “Wait how are you on first name basis with my mother-
The large bus suddenly roared before it began moving, heading for the school gate it seemed to gain more speed before it smashed through the gate.
“Let's go,” Akira quickly put the car in drive before pushing his foot on the gear.To Ayumu's surprise the little car suddenly pushed forward like a rocket! Gaining speed faster than it should.
The second year boy was pushed back into his seat as they drove out of school and into the road. Glancing to the side, Ayumu could see Akira completely focused on the road. How the older boy could see how fast they were moving was beyond him.
“I didn't know Nurse Shizuka liked fast cars!” Ayumu yelled as the car zoomed through the streets of Tokonosu.
“I may have made a few modifications to it, thanks to Tiger.” Akira replied nonchalantly as he made a sharp turn. “She really likes going fast.”
“I don't know who this Taiga person is…”
“She's a friend,” Was all Akira said. “Check on your mom, we're two minutes away.”
“T-Two minutes away? Just how fast are we moving?!” The second year boy exclaimed. School was usually a twenty minute walk, cut to ten if he ran. But it had only been five minutes since they got in the car!
“I took a shortcut,”
Ayumu didn't even bother replying, he just pulled out the phone and was about to message his mother-
Only, there was already a message from his mother waiting for him.
Nana:Help, they are trying to break into the house!
She had sent that message two minutes ago!
“Akira, she said they are trying to break into the house!” Ayumu yelled desperately. Shit, he should've kept watching the phone damn it! “Hurry up!”
“Did she say Zombies were trying to break in? That's impossible, these aren't the type. She must be-” Akira seemed to come to some sort of realization before the car sped up, moving so fast it felt like the beetle had grown wings! “Call her now!”
The agency in Akira's voice had Ayumu dialing his mother's number in a heartbeat! The phone on the end rang for a second or two before it was picked up.
“H-hello, Akira? Someone's trying to break in! He's been banging at my door, saying he wants me! Please help!”
Ayumu felt his heart clench hearing the fear and desperation in his mother's voice. Normally she was so quiet and warm. He couldn't help but think back to what Akira had said a long time ago.
In a Zombie apocalypse, the most dangerous thing isn't the undead corpses. But our fellow humans.
“Mom, where are you right now?!” Ayumu yelled into the phone.
“Ayumu is…is that you? My sweet little boy, I'm glad you're safe-
“Mom, please!”
“I'm hiding under the bed just like Akira said to do. I locked all the front and back doors, and made sure to barricade the doors. But it sounds like they're trying to break in!”
“Tell her to stay calm, we'll be there in a minute.” Akira said, eyes firmly ahead.
“Mom, we're on our way, just hang on!”
“I knew the world was fucked but its day one and things are this hectic,” the third year grumbled to himself.
“Is…is this how it's going to be? All the time?!” Not only did they have to survive against the Dead but the living too? Was the world even safe for them? Would they even surviv-
“Stop spacing out and get your head in the game!” Akira's voice snapped Ayumu out of the depressive trace he was putting himself in. “Keep your mom on the phone, we're almost there!”
Right! “Mom are you still there-do you recognise the person on the other side?” That was probably a dumb question but Ayumu needed to keep his mom talking.
“I think it's Koji, from next door!”
That motherfucker! Koji was a bold bastard from next door who liked to make rude, disgusting remarks at Ayumu's mother. Whatever chance he got he would hit on her and Nana Kadowaki would refuse him. The man wouldn't take no for an answer! And to think, he would take advantage of the world ending to go after her!
“When I get my hands on him, I'm gonna kill him!” Ayumu spat out.
“Oh no he got in! He's at the door to my bedroom!”
“Mom, get up! Find something you can fight!
“Please just go away! Leave me alone-aaaaahhhhh!”
“MOM!!!” Ayumu yelled in horror just as the car made a sharp right turn and came to a stop so sudden it would have had his head bouncing off the dashboard if not for his seat belt.
“We're here!” Akira was already removing his seat belt and opening the door.
Ayumu didn't need to be told twice, he dropped the phone, removed the seat belt and was out of the car in less than two seconds.
The Beetle was parked right by the entrance to the house. The door to the house was already broken in. Ayumu quickly ran into the house. The home he lived in with his mom was fairly small so he found her room in seconds, the door already broken down-
That Bastard Koji was on top of her.
Ripping her clothes off as he laughed and she tried desperately to fight him off!
Ayumu didn't need to think twice, he ran up to them and tackled Koji off his mother. They tumbled to the floor and began to wrestle each other. While Ayumu was fast he wasn't very strong physically and Koji ended up having the upper hand.
“Stupid kid! You should be in school or better yet dead!” The man roared as he punched Ayumu's face.
“And you should be a decent person, but we can't all have nice things,” Ayumu heard Akira's voice, a dull thud and a second letter Koji was off him. “Get up Ayumu, let's get this over with.”
He gladly accepted the hand his friend held out, once he was on his feet both boys turned to see Koji trying to get up while holding the side of his face. Where no doubt Akira smacked him with his bokken.
“You little shits-
Before Konji knew it they were on him, stomping and kicking the shit outta him. The powerful legs Ayumu had built thanks to his parkour were finally paying off!
Konji's curses had turned to begging and then moans of pain before he finally went silent.
Did they kill him? Ayumu didn't know and honestly he didn't care. Right now he needs to check on his mom!
“Mom-”
“My baby boy!” She came running to him, arms wide open.
Ayumu felt tears in his eyes and he jumped into his mother's eyes and cried.
“Mommy!” He wailed into her bosom and she wrapped arms around him and whispered it would all be okay. “I love you so much!”
“I love you too my little Ayumu,” She said sweetly into his ear.
“Not to interrupt but the Zombies are closing in,” Akira said as mother and son separated. “Let's go.”
“Right!” Ayumu nodded before grabbing his mother by the hand. “We have to go-
“O-ouch!” His mother yelped. “S-slow down, I think I hurt my ankle.”
“I…I'm sorry I should have-
“Ayumu, you go and I'll carry her!” Akira quickly rushed over to his mother. “Go to the driver's seat and get ready to drive us out of here!”
Ayumu gave his mother one last look before he quickly ran out the house.
With the safety of his mother secured (for now) Ayumu's metaphorical tunnel vision had cleared and he could now see the world for what it was.
It was Hell.
The neighborhood he grew up in, the place he'd known since he was a child was on fire. People running around either fighting the undead or each other! Cars had collided into each with people still inside and some and even rammed into some houses. Most of the people he had known were either dead or the undead.
“It's only been one day…” Ayumu whispered to himself before slapping his cheek and going to the beetle. He got into the driver's seat and put his seat belt on. A second later Akira came running while carrying his mother in a bridal carry. The two quickly squeezed into the passenger seat.
“Get us out of here Ayumu!” Akira yelled and Ayumu did as told. He quickly put the car in reverse and backed up, slamming into a nearby Zombie. He then put it in drive and drove them the fuck outta there!
“We made it,” Ayumu whispered as he drove through the smoke-filled streets.
“It's all thanks to Konji, I stuck a piece of sharp wood into his thigh and the zombies were drawn to his screams like flies to shit.” Akira said with a sigh.
“Oh my Akira, you're so violent.” The green haired mother giggled. Seated firmly on Akira's lap, the two were pressed tightly together by the seat belt they shared.
“Needs must,” Akira replied as he leaned back into his chair. “It's day one and I'm already this tired.”
“Same here,” Ayumu replied, making sure to hit whatever Zombie got in his way. Despite it all, they managed to rescue his mother. Even though it was only the first day, they had survived and they would continue to survive.
“The end of the world really is tiresome…”
End.
A/N: I'm really tired, if there are any mistakes I'll fix them later...promise
Next chapter we take a look at what's happening on the other side with Shizuka and gang.
And maybe even smut...
Bye for-
Before I ago, a lot of people want the guys in the group to have girls. You guys got any suggestions?
Comments
Takashi would be stuck on Rei. His friend needs time to recover from his failed love as well. Kota has police girl if they ever meet. Story wise a few seems already covered or will take awhile to deal with a broken heart.
