Doomsday prepping 5

A/N important announcement at the end.

“You expect me to believe all this nonsense Shizuka?!” Kyoko whispered harshly.

“I didn't believe it either until now,” Shizuka said. The two were currently seated on the floor at the corner of the room, under a table. Shizuka had her phone charging by the nearby wall socket, staring at it intently. “We just have to wait for him to come and we'll be safe.”

“You must have faith in this man then,” Kyoko sighed before she leaned back. “The world comes to an end just as a man asks me to marry him, typical.”

“I thought you didn't want to marry him,” Shizuka said, her brown eyes still looking down at her phone.

“Didn't but still-

Shizuka's phone lit up for a second, a message from someone. Shizuka quickly checked the name and to her mild disappointment it wasn't Akira. It was from Yuko Sagiri. She opened the message and gave it a read.

Shizuka are you safe. If you're safe call me as soon as possible!

Shizuka quickly pressed on Yuko's name and the call went through.

Shizuka, are you okay?” Yuko's voice was calm and cool.

“Yes, I am. We're stuck in the faculty room of my school.”

Okay, it seems you're safe for the time being. Is Akira with you?”

“No, he told me to wait for him.” Shizuka said, confused as to why her friend was asking about him.

“Can you please give me his number?”

“Huh?! Just because the world is ending doesn't mean my boyfriend is on the menu!” Shizuka yelled into the phone.

“It's not that, I simply want to know the next step of his little plan.”

“...the next step of his what?” A confused Shizuka asked.

Akira knew.

Despite the beginning of the end happening before her and dead people coming to life, the one thing she couldn't wrap her head around was how he knew. How did Akira know this was going to happen?

Akira's books that could be found practically everywhere in Tokonosu where filled with very accurate and helpful information. Weakness, how to survive and even the time it takes for one to transform after being bitten.

The apocalypse had been sudden, one moment it was quiet, the next people were being bitten and all hell had broken loose. Thanks to her connections she had been able to get in contact with Rika and JSDF.

A helicopter was on its way for evac, and all she needed to do was get to the roof of one the nearby buildings. Easy enough.

The streets were in chaos as a mixture of the undead and desperate to flee people ran around like headless chickens. Cars crushed into each other causing even more of a panic. Shizuka was at school right now, which was the best place she could be.

While getting bitten and turning into a Zombie was bad, it was not the only danger. In Akira's books, there's a dedicated section on how some people view the Apocalypse as a second chance. To do what they could not in the old world.

With Japan's hellish work culture, a lot of salary men were about to let loose.

And that was dangerous…

With no laws, these people who had been oppressed for most of their adult lives could finally do whatever they want.

Things were about get even worse soon…

But now wasn't the time to worry about that.

Right now she was at the entrance of the tallest building in the area. An Apartment complex that was no doubt filled with Zombies.

Taking a step in, Yuko opened the door and a Zombie lounged at her. She simply side stepped him, swung her sword and watched his head and body fall to the ground.

Now on edge, Yuko walked into the building and was met with an eerily dark hallway with blood covering its walls. Sighing to herself, Yuko marched on. The high heels of her boots echoing eerily as she walked through the empty hall.

Suddenly she heard loud footsteps approaching, rapidly like a crowd of people running towards her.

The heir of the Sagiri family got into a stance, sword at the ready. She calmly waited for them to get closer.

From the darkness, a horde of Zombies rushed her. Yuko, wasn't fazed by their loud groans as they ran at her. She would make this as quick and painless as possible, after all, she was a doctor.

With a swing of her sword she sliced the top half of the closest Zombie before she split the next one in half. Before their bodies even hit the floor, Yuko and already cut off the heads of two other zombies. With strength and speed that far surpassed her opponents, Yuko managed to kill ten zombies before she made it to the nearest elevator.

Sighing, Yuko turned away from the elevator and took the stairs.

According to Akira's instructions, elevators are practically metal coffins in a Zombie apocalypse. If the power suddenly cuts off which is most likely to happen given the circumstances, no one is going to be helping her anytime soon because they'll be too busy hiding.

With a grumble Yuko headed for the stairs, at least the Zombies would keep her entertained.

Half an hour later she was standing on the roof of the apartment complex, her clothing and hair drenched in guts and blood. Making sure the door was shut, Yuko leaned against it and pulled out her phone.

“You people better have a bath ready for me,” She said once she placed the call.

“We have your location ma'am, prepare for extraction in five minutes.”

The call cut as Yuko waited patiently, three minutes in and she could see the helicopter up in the sky heading for her. The screams of people below were soon drowned out by the helicopter landing on the roof.

“Ma'am, as per your orders everything you requested has been set up.” A soldier jumped out the copter and approached her. Dressed in full military gear and his gun aimed at the door behind her.

“Good, take me there as fast as you can.”

An hour later, a cleaned and freashed Yuko found herself in a heavily fortified house.

“As you requested, we have Internet and assembled as many computers, printers, copiers and paper we could get our hands on.” The leader of the squad said. “May I ask why we had to do this ma'am?”

Yuko went over to a computer and sat down on the chair placed next to it. “We need a way to inform people on what's happening and what they can do to help themselves.” the swordswoman said as she typed away at the computer. “And lucky for us, someone went through the trouble of making detailed documents that are free and available to all.”

Akira's website was still up and running. Not only was Akira going out of his way to give out pamphlets in real life but had them ready and available for download. Even now, she could see people commenting on the site, asking how he knew, thanking him for the information and some even outright blaming Akira for all this. Saying he made the virus that caused all this and the end of the world was his fault.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, I'm sure you know your way around a computer.” Yuko said as she downloaded the documents and began printing them out. “I want one to search through this website for any and all mention of the undead and see if we can get any information from it. And I want another team on making as many copies of what's been printed out as we can.”

“Yes ma'am!”

Roughly twenty people in the whole house went to work while a few stood guard at the widows.

Yuko began searching through Akira's website, looking at every conversation that was had in the chat and comment section. Most of it was just people making fun but Akira always replied with an honest answer. As she read through the conversations, she was approached by one of the soldiers in charge of communication.

“Ma'am a call for you from base,” He said as he handed her a SAT phone.

Thanking him, Yuko put the phone to her ear. “Sagiri speaking,”

Yuko, it's Rika. I need your help.”

“What's wrong Rika?” Yuko stopped her reading and focused on the call.

It's Shizuka, I'm too far away from her and we're not allowed to contact our families and friends. The higher ups don't want us abandoning the JSDF and running off to save our loved ones.” Rika said with a sigh. “I was hoping you could help me out on that front. Heck the only reason I'm even able to call you is because you're top ranked.”

“I'll see what I can do,” Yuko said before she smiled. “Though I don't think we have to worry about her, she's with him after all.”

“...I just realized Shizuka is an expert in CQC and an above average marksman.” Rika said. “That brat knew all this shit was gonna go down, I can't even be mad at him because he went out of his way to make sure Shizuka would be safe. Though I wonder why he asked her to learn CQC, it doesn't make sense given our enemy.”

“I don't think he had her learn it for the zombies,” Yuko said. “People will want to take advantage of whoever they can in a crisis.”

“That's true I guess, look I gotta go but I'll call you in an hour for an update.”

The call cut and Yuko passed the SAT phone back to its owner before she pulled out her phone and texted Shizuka. She just hoped the blonde nurse would have remembered to keep her phone on silent and that she was safe.

A second later Shizuka replied.

They talked for a bit before Shizuka gave her Akira's number, at the cost of promising to not steal Akira from her. Yuko quickly texted Akira to call when he was able to before she went back to searching the website.

She'd been investigating Akira while she stayed in Tokonosu, out of curiosity more than anything else. That coupled with his websites and writings, it was clear to her that Akira was very meticulous. Yuko was sure he had some sort of safe house with all the resources he needed.

A few minutes later her phone rang, Akira was calling.

Sagiri, to what do I owe the pleasure?” He asked. For someone who was in the middle of an apocalypse, Akira sounded calm.

“Are you on your way to Shizuka?” Yuko asked.

“Yes, I just stopped to catch my breath.” He said. “You wanted to talk to me, so talk.”

Right to the point. “What's the plan now, after you get out of the school where are you going next?” She asked him.

“Safe house,” Akira replied. “But we'll have to make a few stops before we get there. I'll take Shizuka to Rika's place since it's big enough to hold my group. And speaking of Rika, she's currently with JSDF right?”

“Yes, why do you ask?”

Is this line secure?”

“Yes, it's just you and me.” And that was the truth, no one else could hear Akira since this was her personal phone.

“I have a shipment that's been stuck at the airport, it's full of valuable supplies. I'll need it before the JSDF or anyone else gets their hands on it.”

Yuko knew Akira planned ahead but it was still surprising to hear he had gone out of his way to bring in something from out of Tokonosu. Just what was this mysterious shipment?

“What's the shipment?” She couldn't help but ask him.

Medical supplies,”

“I see, this will be a very difficult task, Akira.” Right now the Airport was being closed off by JSDF, a unit was sent to protect civilians and make sure more of the undead do leave the city or come into it. Coincidentally, Rika was part of that unit. “I don't think we can get that shipment today, there's just too much happening.”

Hopefully no one will notice it,”

“Akira you said you're going to Rika's place after this right? I'll meet you there so we can share ideas. If that's okay with you.” She was hoping to sit down with Akira and have a talk with him. To find out how all this started and how to end it.

Before we meet, I need you to do me a favor.”

“What's the favor?” A curious Yuko asked.

As per Akira's instructions, Saeko made sure to kill as many Zombies as she could once she got close to the faculty room. To make sure no zombies remained in the hallway leading to the door.Having zombies clawing at the door would be problematic, given the fact that more people would soon be following after her.

Making sure no zombie was left standing, Saeko approached the door and gave it a single knock. A minute later she heard the sound of large objects being moved before the door opened and Nurse Shizuka peeked through.

“Quickly Saeko, get in!” The blonde said in a whisper.

Saeko took a step forward but that seemed to be too slow for Shizuka because the blonde nurse grabbed Saeko and pulled her into the room. Making sure to shut the door behind her.

Inside, Saeko was subjected to a hug that had her almost suffocated in Shizuka's bossom.

“I'm so happy to see you!” Shizuka said while hugging the Busujima heir.

“Yes,I'm happy to see you too, Shizuka.” Saeko said as the bubbly woman pulled back. “Let's barricade the door just to be safe.”

“Busujima, what is going on out there?” Kyoko Hayashi asked as she stepped forward. “A-and you're covered in blood!"

Saeko looked down at herself, noting she was practically drenched in blood. She looked up at Shizuka, who had gotten some of that blood on her. But the blonde didn't even seem fazed, simply staring at her phone.

“I'll explain later sensei, right now I have to barricade the door.” Saeko said, turning towards the tables and chairs that were put to the side. She quickly got to work locking the door and putting whatever heavy thing was nearby. Once that was done she turned to Kyoko. “Is there a bathroom here that I could use?”

“Y-yes it's right through there,” The red haired teacher nervously pointed and Saeko gave a bow before she followed the direction. It was clear that the older woman was sacred of Saeko.

Given the fact that Saeko was covered in blood and holding a bloody bokken, the Busujima heir didn't blame her one bit. She walked in the bathroom and cleaned herself as best as she could. While she did that, she thought about how many Zombies she had slayed, feeling a sense of arousal at the memory of her bokken ending their undead lives.

Shaking her head, Saeko opened the Tap and washed her face clean. While imagining killing zombies was fun, it was a thousand times better to do it for real. For now she would rest and gather her strength.

More fun was to come soon…

Shizuka stared at her phone with hope in her heart, Akira was on his way. It had been five minutes since Saeko had come for her. The younger girl was calmly explaining to a distraught Kyoko what was happening outside.

Shortly after Saeko had arrived, Akira had texted Shizuka. Saying he would be coming in the next six minutes. It had already been seven minutes now and she was getting worried. She wanted to call him, to see if he was okay, to comfort him if he needed it! But she knew better, Akira insisted on him being the one to call her. It meant he was fighting his way towards her and a phone call from her might distract him.

So she would wait, and even though she had hope he would come to her, Shizuka couldn't help but worry for her lover.

Suddenly, her phone lit up and there was a knock at the door.

“Honey I'm home,”

Shizuka read the text with tears in her eyes before she stood up and ran to the door. Moving the tables, chairs and file cabinet to the side. She ignored Saeko who had come to help her remove all the objects they had piled at the door in favor of unlocking the door and forcing it open.

And there he was…

Akira was covered in a bit of blood, a bloody bokken in his hand as he stared back at her.

“Welcome home dear,” Shizuka said as she wiped her tears. “Would you like dinner, a bath or me?”

“I'll take you any day of the week,” Akira said with a small smile as took a step into the room.

Shizuka quickly engulfed him in a tight hug that he returned. “I am so happy to see you,” She cried in his arms.

“Me too,” He said softly as she pulled back. Akira's hands then came up to her face and gently wiped the tears away. “We're going to make it through this, I promise you.”

“I know,” Shizuka said before she leaned forward and they kissed. The blonde made sure to pour all her love into the kiss as she opened her mouth and allowed his tongue entrance.

 “Shizuka!”

She ignored the shocked Kyoko and focused on her lover until they pulled back for air.

“As long as we're together we'll get through all this.” She said as she hugged him.

“Yeah together,”

“I think the coast is clear,” Takashi said as everyone turned to him.

When Akira had called him when all this shit went down he'd appointed Takashi as leader since Rei was in shock. He didn't really see himself as the leader type but he needed to save his friends. So he stepped up, he led everyone out of danger and now they're safe. For now. While Takashi was the leader of this group, he still got information from Akira through text. The older boy would check up on them every few minutes. And even though he had his differences with Akira, his instructions were very helpful.

“Then let's get a move on,” Hisashi said as everyone who was seated stood up. Makeshift weapons in hand.

Takashi held a solid piece of wood that was once the leg of a teacher's table. Rei was given a staff that was once a broom but had the other end removed and sharpened. Hisashi used his socks to wrap the removed metal legs of the chairs to his arms. Having sharpened them a bit.

Yuuki and the newcomer Kohta Hirano had been given a leg from the table Takashi had gotten his from.

And Saya didn't get a weapon because in her words she was a genius.

Whatever that meant…

With the three at the head of the group, they silently charged. The hallway was still filled with Zombies but it was nothing they couldn't handle. Takashi swung his would be bat as hard as he could against on, crushing its skull and knocking it to the ground. Rei stabbed one right through the head with her staff and Hisashi stabbed one through the side of the head. Trio of friends were unstoppable as they fought their way to the faculty room. Kohta, Saya and Yuuki just followed behind, not even needing to lift a finger.

And when they turned a corner, they were met with the sight of dozens of corpses. Zombies, dozens of them all dead across the floor. Their heads caved in, or out right crushed.

“Looks like it's smooth sailing from here,” Takashi said, staring in awe at the dead corpses. It was like a large blender and went through here! Who or what had done this?!

“Thank god,” Hisashi muttered with a sigh. “I'm starting to get tired already.”

“We should still keep our guard up,” Takashi pointed at the end of the hall. “Faculty room is just a turn from here.”

The group quickly made their way through the hall of dead corpses and headed straight for the faculty room.

“Akira said to text him once we're at the door,” Yuuki said as she typed away at her phone.

A few seconds later the door opened and Saeko Busujima silently gestured for them to come in. The group quickly entered the room before the door was locked shut.

“Akira!” Rei yelled as she jumped into the arms of her boyfriend. “I was so scared!”

Takashi felt a ping of hurt as he saw this, just when he was about to get her back the world decided to end. Typical.

“Kids, come over here so Kyoko and I can check you for bites or injuries!” Nurse Shizuka called out as everyone turned to her and Ms Kyoko.

Of course Saya Takagi wasn't having it.

“That can wait! Akira tell me how you knew-

“I wasn't asking,” The blonde nurse's smile was anything but sinister. “Come over here or else I'm gonna have to put you over my knee and spank you.”

“I think you better do what she says,” Takashi said as Saya grumbled and walked over to the Nurse. Saya, despite being a self proclaimed genius, was really dumb. Even Takashi, who didn't like Akira that much, knew it was a bad idea to hassle the one guy who knew what was going on.

“We made it,” Hisashi said as walked over to Takashi. The taller boy slowly removed his wrist mounted blades. “Now what?”

“Honestly I have no idea,” Takashi shrugged. “It's all up to him.” He gestured to Akira who was seated by a table typing away at a laptop. Rei had moved to where Shizuka was giving everyone a check up. “Once we get out of here, I'm leaving the group and going to look for my mom.”

“Sounds like a solid plan,” Hisashi nodded. “I think I'll do the same. My little sister is at the school where your mom teaches. Then once we get them, I'll go out and find my mom.”

“That's as good a plan as any honestly,” Takashi smiled as he fist bumped his friend.

“We're not gonna make it two steps are we?” Hisashi laughed.

“Nope, we're doomed.” Takashi laughed back.

Leave it to his best friend to make him laugh.

Rei could tell Akira was stressed out, despite his mask of calmness. Her boyfriend sat by a table typing on his laptop, yet she could see his eyes glancing at the door every minute or so.

She knew why.

Ayumu hadn't arrived yet.

Despite being his girlfriend for only a few months, Rei liked to think she got to know Akira a bit better. He liked to plan ahead for everything, to know everything so he could plan around events happening. It was why he had called Takashi when all this happened. He'd known Takashi would have his phone on him. And every step of the way he had been guiding them here. The little group had made it through hell thanks to him.

But Ayumu, like her, did not carry his phone to school today.

She could tell Akira didn't know where his friend was but rather than panic he remained calm and waited.

“You look like you need a massage,” Rei said as she walked over to him.

“I'm a bit stiff but I'm-

Rei ignored him and simply put her hands on his shoulders and got to work. Smiling at the satisfied groan that came out of him. Rei continued kneading shoulders as Akira stared at his laptop. She took a peak at it and what she saw made her smile. Akira was currently telling people what to do in this situation. Options ranged from, follow your local government's evacuation orders or stay inside and wait until tomorrow. The zombies would slow down with no people in sight.

“Akira, once we've all rested up, I'm going to go after my mother.” Rei said, as Akira turned his head to look up at her. She has been thinking about this ever since they got stuck in that classroom. Her father was at work when all this happened so he was surrounded by his fellow policemen and their guns. So it was possible he was safe. But her mother-

“Oh that? I've already made plans for her. If things go well she'll be waiting for us where we're going.” Akira nonchalantly replied, making her blink in confusion. “Sorry I didn't mention it earlier-

Rei shut him up by kissing him with all her might.

....

End

Important announcement. A few weeks ago I went out grocery shopping, I got on a bus going into two and on another coming back home. That's the day I got Covid. The one time I go out and I end up getting covid smh. The first two weeks were hell but I managed to pull through. I could barely write anything because I was in constant pain and tired all the time. I waited to announce this as soon as I got the Rona but I didn't want to be the guy who posts an Author's Note by itself. So I powered through and wrote this chapter so at least I can put something out there.

I'm still sick but I feel a lot better now. I was confident when someone asked when this story would get updates and I said two chapters a week. Yeah so that was a fucking lie.

As the saying goes, man plans, god laughs.

So yeah I'm still alive and will try to update as best as can. Hopefully I'll get better soon-(as I'm typing this I broke out into a painful coughing fit)

Love you guys stay safe out there.

They'll get girls eventually as more people show up

Chris uzumaki phantom

..is that saying yes to the guys not getting any girls, or yes that they WILL get girls?

Deathknight134

Yes I will. After all, I went through the effort of giving them personalities. Or maybe they'll die gruesome terrible deaths.

Chris uzumaki phantom

Someone on QQ brought up a good point. Do you plan on not letting the guys have any girls for themselves?

Deathknight134

This story is so good I had to subscribe to get more chapters
