The earliest draft of Barkeep on the Borderlands
Added 2023-08-01 04:57:55 +0000 UTCI want this Patreon to be sort of a behind-the-scenes of my creative process, especially now that I am starting in earnest on making my next big adventure. That will mean not only showing early drafts, but also the sketches and rough drafts of art that I commission for my future projects. There is a lot of work that goes into an RPG, and it can be fun to see a game grow the same way a player-character might grow over the course of a long campaign!
Since I am at this point best-known for Barkeep on the Borderlands*, nothing demonstrates this level of growth quite like seeing the earliest extant draft of what would eventually become Barkeep. This is primarily from the early spring of 2021, and it is somewhat recognizable as Barkeep, but it also is a long way from what was to come.
Hopefully this is an interesting look, but I intend most the stuff I share to be more forward-looking. For the Aspiring Tycoons, I will share some initial pages for the current draft of Prismatic Wasteland, my ever-forthcoming science fantasy system/setting, and an abandoned (for now) draft of a Pokemon reimagining of a classic D&D adventure. For the Beleaguered Bouncers, I hope to have another draft blog locked and loaded soon (I have a couple long ones that are in process--do you guys want to see them in mid-complete stage, or want me to wait until they're nearly fully operational? Let me know).
