Informal Sunday Update #6 - Return of the Sunday release
Added 2025-05-18 14:00:06 +0000 UTCSo, what to announce or talk about? First, I think I'll address the first chapter of volume three now that it's out for the RR community as well. I've had some people in the past say they aren't certain about the fact that Universe's End is settled history, that you already know Rory will go the distance. With the first chapter of volume three I of course reminded the audience of that fact, but I think it's worth doing, given the entire premise of Universe's End is it's following the story of what would be the top dog OG bad-asses of other LitRPGs. Their were three specific things in the chapter I introduced that are definitely big teases for the future, and anyone that can guess them gets 10 internet points.
Moving on from that, some of you are probably going "Hey, Francis, you promised some note drops, were are they?"
To which I would say, all my notes have actually been undergoing an overhaul recently. For a quick background, I write from Microsoft word and my notes are often either on excel or separate word documents. The issue is, it causes some serious issues with everything being in different places. Well, recently I discovered Novelcrafter, and have been transitioning notes and the like their, so its been eating up some of my time, as not just have I been moving where my notes are, but also updating them. My hope is to be finished shortly, and then I'll finally get around to one of the note drops I promised.
Next, and this one is 100% just my inner musings. For any unaware, I have a job outside of writing AND I coach, plus just typical IRL responsibilities. The current season of coaching is nearing its end, and for some time I've been planning to look for a new job. Well, I've recently been considering a rather... uncertain idea. As a very frugal person, I have quite a decent amount of savings, meaning I could go over a year without a stable job. So, I've been considering the possibility of switching to a chapter-every-day release and trying to see how much I can grow the audience with at least 6-8 months of full time writing. Of course if I did ever go this course, you'd all receive the proper amount of early chapters, up from 2-4-6 early chapters to 5-10-15 (and eventually 20 but I'm not introducing that tier until the follower count on RR at least doubles). The other part of my internal calculus, is that for the last year, Universe's End has grown purely from you all liking, rating, reviews, etc, and of course my actual quality of writing.
Once I hit the one year anniversary (less then a month out at this point) I'm looking into starting up ads and trying to reach out to other authors for shout outs, as I'll stress again, the last year I've done zero of that.
It's definitely a risky move, and one I'm not willing to make lightly, but one of the best ways to grow is through sheer output volume. I'll probably try test running it for month or two after the coaching season ends, trying to get at least 1-2 chapters done a day, and see how sustainable that feels (and also build the backlog necessary so I could seamlessly swap to the new schedule without needing to take a break)
Anyway, that's the update for the -I would say week but these don't drop every week- time being. Expect next chapter on Wednesday as usual!

We also have the fact that world spirit becomes the universe spirit, so solar system thing succeeds.

The First to Fall was alluding to something that might happen in this arc. 3. Literally stated that Rory and Allison have children, maybe they meet each other in this arc? These are just guesses, I'd be interested to hear other peoples opinions/ideas.
