2021-03-23 18:28:07 +0000 UTCThe events of the flashback in the arc happened after the war. Gintoki is 27 in the present and 17 at the end of the war (and the flashback showed in this arc). The war actually happens for a long period but Gintoki, Takasugi, Katsura and Sakamoto join only during the end period of the war (last 6 months if I am remembering correctly). This was explained during a Ginpachi sensei segment in some earlier episode (can't remember exact episode)
