Glazing as a finishing technique

Glazing is the most common way I take a block-in and render it to a finish. If you watch the form painting demo and then study this afterward, you will better understand how I think of the form for every brushstroke. Glazing is a very common technique in oil paint, this is one way to implement it.

Generally speaking you are right, if we consider that a diffused reflection would always be somewhat absorbed by something it would not be perfectly white. But we are dealing with the limitation of pigments so that top portion of the spectrum is compressed. Therefore a smaller margin of error compared to say a 8K camera that has a very large dynamic range. Paints are still somewhat archaic and it is a bit more blunt in execution. Think if Van Gogh or Manet, not very subtle at all.

master, so in flowers or white objects you usually use pure white sometimes? I thought we should never use "pure white", but always put a touch of color to keep the chroma higher, (although lower the value, of course). What do you think about this?

Amazing!
