Audio Exclusive: Artists as Agents of Change, Celebrating Ben Barber

Enjoy a panel discussion moderated by Laura Flanders and a key note address by Oskar Eustis, director of the famed Public Theater in New York, featuring artists as agents of change celebrating the work of Ben Barber, founder of the "Interdependence Movement". 

The artists, activists and scholars featured were chosen to represent the new and inspiring ways in which the arts, culture, and creativity in particular are giving voice to a new generation of activism, in engaging Barber’s Interdependence Movement philosophy. 


Panelists Included: 

Cristal Chanel Truscott, artist, scholar, educator, dialogue facilitator, playwright, and Artistic Director of Progress Theatre.

"We are interdependent and interconnected whether we acknowledge it or not." 

Ruchira Gupta, journalist, social justice activist, feminist campaigner and CEO/Founder of the anti-trafficking organization Apne Aap, which serves more than 20,000 at risk and prostituted girls and women and their family members.

"We have to find a different mechanism for healing, and the healing comes from being with each other."

Mohsin Mohi Ud Din, CEO and founder of #MeWe International Inc., which leverages the science of storytelling and communications as a tool for healing, building resilience, and community-building, particularly in refugee communities.

"The power of stories are they can take you from where you are to where you want to be."

Arturo O'Farrill, pianist, composer, educator, and artistic director and founder of the Afro Latin Jazz Alliance, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the performance, education, and preservation of Afro Latin music.
