The tricky thing with YouTube shorts is finding the right balance of effort and quality. I'm not really interested in uploading something that I'm not proud of, and I definitely don't want to push out a video just because it's been a while, so shorts work as a nice middle ground between main channel uploads.
But that's a big double edged sword: How many hours of my life to I really want to dedicate to 1 minute of video? The great thing about making the camwing doodle a 3D model as opposed to traditional 2D animation is that creating keyframes becomes trivially easy, so lately I've been making animation mockups with key poses that I can edit around.
This is the rough draft I sent to some friends to get some feedback on, and I ended up changing a couple lines and adding some additional animation in the final release.
