BIG UPDATE! Major issue, some changes. *PLEASE READ*

SUP CAPTAIN+CREW?! So, in regards to my previous post and in regards to the couple of videos that I tried to put up today (ATEEZ's "the real" behind, TWICE's Seize The Light EP4, STRAY KIDS <3 Kids Room: Han) but failing due to this current issue, I decided to go ahead and update y'all all the way.

So I've reached a point on Patreon where I never honestly thought I'd reach. As some of y'all know, I use Vimeo to upload my videos and post them here for y'all to view. Well, Vimeo got in contact with me via several Zoom meetings. To put it in short, since there's a lot of technicality to the issue: my Vimeo account has been going over the allowed bandwidth on Vimeo for the past 6 months. Vimeo may state that they provide unlimited bandwidth, but they failed to mention the importance of "subject to fair use". Meaning, they don't charge Vimeo accounts for the bandwidth cost because most users usually and typically stay within that allowed bandwidth. However, my account is insanely the top 1% that uses the most bandwidth. I don't know how the hell that's possible, considering the fact that I don't have that many Patrons. It could be due to the amount of content I have that adds up with the bandwidth usage, it could be a lot of people using one Patreon account altogether which uses up the allowed bandwidth usage, etc. I was just so shocked when I was contacted about this because I remember watching a video by Form Of Therapy last year about them having this issue as well, but their channel is literally more than FIVE times bigger than mine. But basically, I have two options, both tough:

OPTION 1: buy into a customized plan for my Vimeo account's stats, which brings me from paying $240 a year to $4,800 a year, meaning- the tier prices on my Patreon will increasing by a little in order for me to keep what I do here. It'll maybe $1 extra, at most $2. Still doing the math with this one.

OPTION 2: Discontinue with Vimeo and find another platform to re-upload ALL of my current content, meaning I'd have either go into every post to update the link or having to delete all my posts here on Patreon to re-post them due to Vimeo terminating my account. If I choose to not continue my services with them, they'll give me a 30-day period for migration before permanently deleting my account and content.

As of now, after doing much researching and speaking with other content creators, and with my current status of how much content I have up already, I may end up sticking with Vimeo. I have until Friday to give them an answer to prevent my Vimeo account from being terminated on Tuesday the 21st. I don't even have the $4800 to pay them upfront to prevent my account from being deleted, but my parents will take care of that for me since they know I can pay them back quarterly as the months go back (that is, if I still have y'alls' support here with me). Vimeo does have the option for me to pay the $4800 quarterly, but they'll charge 10% interest, so that's why my parents are willing to help me with this to avoid the interest. I've thought about using other platforms like Dropbox, Google Drive, and Amazon CloudFront, but with how my traffic flow moves with my content's bandwidth usage, I'll eventually stumble upon this same issue since NO platform will ever give actual unlimited bandwidth without the "subject to fair use" policy, so not being able to avoid this issue with other platforms plus the pain of having to re-upload all of my content/update the links in all of my Patreon posts, I think taking my chance (aka a super financial blow) with paying for the $4800-yearly membership on Vimeo is the tough but lesser-tough way to go.

Since I have until Friday to give Vimeo an answer, and since I'm currently gathering my finances together to afford this upgrade, I would like to ask y'all first: would y'all be fine with the tier memberships going up by anywhere from $1-2 US dollars? Please don't feel guilty to be honest, I of all people understand how tight money can be (y'all saw my previous post about how much my medications, doctor visits, and blood work costs alone). I may create another tier, not too sure yet. I'm down for ideas with that, if y'all have any. Also, if and when I get my new membership started with Vimeo, the price changes for the tiers will go active when October rolls around (meaning, your memberships now won't be effected. Once October comes, you can either continue on with your current tier, change tiers, or cancel).

Thanks so much for reading this if you made it all the way here. This has been so stressful and a huge pain in my ass to figure out, but I'll hang on as much as I can. I apologize for the current delay of being able to upload new content (pissed me off because I spent the last several days filming and editing for Patreon, only to be stopped from being able to upload anything at the moment because of this issue). I have my content list updated (in the "About" section on my profile) for my newer Patrons here to have some thangs to watch and for y’all OG Patrons who might have some catching up to do. There's currently over 200 videos available to view. Thanks for your support, CAPTAIN+CREW.

I will be glad to continue supporting t an extra $2/3 a month!

I don't mind paying 2/3$ a month. Go for the best option for you !

Whatever you decide to be best for you. I'm in full support.

I don't mind paying 2/3$ a month, however I would mind paying more for keeping Vimeo in business. I wish you'd find a better solution. 400$ a month is way too expensive for the kind of service they provide. Especially since people often experience issue viewing videos depending on the device etc...

You could create a second YouTube account and have videos as unlisted and only accessible through a link. That is what JK News does with their content.

I wanna say PD went through this same thing, maybe reach out to Form Of Therapy and see how they dealt with it?

I'm new patreon on your channel and I don't mind if I need to pay more because I love your content.

I don't mind paying a little more, since you put out the content to back it up. I will say, however, that everyone on Patreon that I follow has Vimeo problems. Even after this, they may come at you later for more money, it has happened to others. So I would recommend trying to spread out your content over a couple sites. Like Daily Motion for one type of video, Vimeo for another, and unlisted youtube videos for another. Someone I follow uses unlisted YouTube videos (posted on a backup channel, so if something happens with them her main channel is uneffected) as her way of reacting to Run BTS and other content like that. No matter what you decide, we'll stick around. You always give us so much quality content it is worth the price.

No problem as long as you continue uploading Twice's content, keep counting with me πŸ‘
