Nishi's rough morning
Added 2022-11-25 18:48:05 +0000 UTCThe operation was a success and routinely the anesthesiologist had been reducing Nishi's dosage, so the girl would be returning from her deep slumber, just as they were all done on her.
However when the doctor was expecting a sign that she could start extubating her patient, she got no response. Despite any anesthesia having been stopped half an hour ago, Nishi was laying there as still as ever, only the the ventilator making her chest rise and fall. It seems her body was unable to deal with the anesthetic as it should and would take much longer to finally free itself from it's firm grasp.
After a bit of waiting, the OR had to be cleaned and prepared for the next patient, so Nishi, still being ventilated was moved out, still on the table and hooked up to a ventilator in the pre-OP area.
As Nishi's condition was a little troublesome, but not inherently dangerous, after checking her through once more, the doctor removed the tape from her eye. Still not seeing much, but also having a full schedule, she then left the patient in the hands of the nurses...
"Huh, no light reaction..."
"Mari, you know this girl has total blindness, right? It's right there on her tag..."
"Means she can't see, yeah I know..But wouldn't her eyes still react?"
"To be honest...I got no clue... I never had anyone like that."
"Oh!"
"Hah, she moved her arm!"
"Finally~"
"Head's also moving, let's take her off the vent."
"There there, Nishi. We got you,"
"Plop~"
"Let's see how she handles this."
"Hughhhchhh- Chhh- Chhh-"
"Yep!~ Good spontaneous breathing. Good gir!l~"
"Youre fantastic, Nishi! We'll take the tube out in jsut a moment, don't worry!"
"rghh..Chhh-"
"Chhh-rghh..Chhh-"
"She's really not liking the tube now, so her reflexes are certainly back..."
".-Chhh-"
But apart from from that I don't think she's really with us yet."
"-rghh..Chhh-"
"Alright Nish! Caugh out the tube for me!"
"-rghhkk -rghkkk-..."
"Caugh Caugh Caugh!"
"-rghkkk-"
"Chku!"
"Veeery good!~"
"Well done Nishi!"
*pant* *pant*
"Her O2 and other vitals are looking good. Good breathing reflexes, but she's still a totaly doozy ..."
"Yeah, what a cutie. Let's pass on her on to PACU though and let them know she's a slow one."
