Breakbeat Of The Month #4…explosive beats! [video + sample + project download]

Man, Purdie is tight and funky, and he got soooo many more breaks, I prob gotta cover some more in a later BBOTM episode.
This one has not been used that much in any genre, probably because 1) it does take some work and 2) it has a very very particular, aggressive, explosive tone.
I'm mentioning on the video what I think may be the first song using it, and I mention a song of mine, and I get busy with the break, and I'm giving you the original song as a download + a version that I've edited for your convenience + you get the project I created and which I rock with on the video.
If you happened to use the project + the drum pattern I created in your song, I'll ask no monetary compensation, but I'd love to be credited to some extent :)
(There's one case on my career where I put a ton of work on a certain break that takes so much effort, and I gave the break to a producer and it ended up on a very decent label, and I didn't even get a mention while all the processing and most of the arrangement of the break in that song was done by me and it took some serious effort…grrrr!)

I know you did some videos building a break using Addictive Drums but I can't remember if you did anything around processing a break you built from scratch to make it sound like a dusty old break from a record. If you have, can you shoot me a link to the video, if not I reckon it could make for an interesting video.

2024-07-25 14:02:14 +0000 UTCYessir, I usually don't want anything to overlap with a busy break like this! Sometimes I may add a hihat here and there on a drumhit that has a weak hihat or none at all, but aside from that, one drumsound at a time.
