Your mono signal sucks! Better mono can I HAAS?

In my daily mixing work, I hear its disastrous results too often.
Let's learn about better mono again. This'll only take you a few minutes and hopefully help.
Let's make mono great again!

I don’t use Imager that much – sometimes though. I’ve often found that the stereo image it creates often leans on one side a bit. Even had a client mention that once. The wider you go, the more you may notice it. It has another mode too but it widens the transients too but most of the time I don’t do that.

2024-06-21 06:56:14 +0000 UTCAgreed HAAS effect sucks ass! Been using Sidewidener since the first version what a great simple plugin! Fanu do you use much of ozone imager to add width say if you wanted to use it in multiband mode to avoid spreading the low end?

2024-06-21 06:51:31 +0000 UTChaha :P that's almost the only widener I use! one can get its earlier version for free from Computer Music's plugin vault if they buy any issue of CM. There's also a free, more chorus-type widener, called Multiply by Acon Digital that is great. to boost any *existing* width, one can use any plugin that does that, e.g., Ableton Utility, Voxengo MSED etc…they dont *generate* width but can raise the level of existing width.
